Really Sam?

When I told Randall I wasn't with her, Sam reacts saying "What?". I mean WTH? Why was she counting on Michonne to be on her side? She just met her today. Stupid Sam is stupid

  • I think that's determinant, depending whether you let her go with the bag or try to take it from her, but I'm not sure. It would surely be a nice detail.

  • It happens no matter if you grab it or not

  • Oh, well, then she was a jerk for saying it. I really disliked when she did that, which could arguably be what caused Randall to bring them to Monroe.

She doesn't say it if Michonne doesn't state that they aren't together, though.

  • Yeah, I didn't really get why she reacted that way either. Michonne and Pete literally just met her and her brother.

From the looks of it this is probably one of her lies, by insinuating that Michonne is the liar and was with Sam to begin with when they've only just met for the first time.

Either that, or she has selective hearing and didn't hear what Michonne said to Randall at that point.

  • I read this title and thought this was another thread bemoaning what Sam the dog did to Clem and thought, "well, maybe the OP just played the episode for the first time...better late than never." :)

But yeah, I agree. Maybe next episode will get me attached to Sam, but right now her character and story seems to be setting up for a Carver/Governor story. Maybe Michonne will make a reference, but at this point, I'm ambivalent about her fate. Not a bad character and I can feel for the loss of her brother, but I've read/seen/played this several times already in TWD universe. But maybe Telltale will change up the formula; they're good at that.

May I ask how do you find Sam similar to them? She is a female teenager, and they are men in their forties who run succesful communities.

  • Her reactions are odd, maybe she's mentally impaired due to a trauma or something ... I hope she will be a villain.

  • I think she said "what" to make them believe that Michonne was with them and that Michonne is lying, not because she wanted her on her side.

  • I guess I haven't seen Sam's darker and lying side on my playthrough.

  • Yeah Sam doesnt seem the brightest.....

  • I couldn't really blame her TOO much, she and her brother appear to be young teens, not older than 15 is my guess. She's scared and not thinking straight, I can't really fault Sam with that. Hell, I'm gonna be 26 soon and I know I'd be the same way, panicked and scared, if caught by bad dudes in a zombie apocalypse.

  • I find it interesting that no matter what you say to Norma, Greg will always say the exact opposite. I wonder why.

  • Tell me about it

Because the whole point of that scene was for your stories to not line up with one another.

I suppose you could consider it contrived conflict if you wanted to, but it makes sense when you think about it; Greg has no way of knowing what Michonne said to Norma, so having their stories not line up does have some reason behind it.

Also, because I'm a stickler, Greg only says the opposite for the "How many people" question. For the first question of how long you've known each other, he'll always say that you're old family friends.

  • Still stupid. Michonne and Pete were just scavenging and she was holding them at gunpoint like an idiot.

  • Gotta be lying to convince Randall and co. that Michonne and Pete are with them. Trying to use us and lie to get out of the very bad situation she is going to be in. Sam knows she's screwed and bringing more people with her could help and cause her enemies to be ours. Seems to work for the most part.

  • Wierd though

  • But Carver and the Governor were not as far as I can tell

    Carver/Governor story

We don't know yet if Norma is as bad as them

except the community Monroe is ran by Woman not a man.

  • Sam kinda pissed me off at a few points as well. I mean, first they had guns to my face, then she expected me to be with her.

  • She probably lied to make Randall believe Michonne & Pete are with her to then pin the blame on her. But then seeing as it would be more beneficial to have Michonne as an ally and changed her course of action.

She seems fishy, but maybe she'll prove us wrong.

  • I don't think it was stupid tbh, she was obviously trying to frame Michonne and Pete so they wouldn't punish her and her brother.

  • And @Bluebirdo was talking about Sam, not Monroe nor Norma.

except the community Monroe is ran by Woman not a man.

  • I don't trust her. Norma may not be the best either but Sam's clearly a good liar. I'm almost certain she stole that duffle bag.

  • I think she did that as a ploy to make Randall think otherwise.

  • You do realize this is the same universe that their is a little 12 year old girl that been surviving for maybe a year on her own( determinant.but yes clem is about 12 1/2 in this series, assuming she is still alive or haven't found a group yet.)

  • Well, Clementine also had the love and support of Lee before being on her own. He protected her and taught her to survive. Who did Sam and Greg have? My best guess is no-one. They have very different circumstances here.

  • Exactly. I'm waiting for her to die.

  • It's a very likely situation for these two. If they had parents who were still living, maybe they're just as bad as Norma and her crazy brother, so of course they'd still want to get away from that.

If Sam ends up biting me in the butt later on I will gladly eat my words, but for now, I'm not gonna think a young girl like Sam is purposely trying to get me in trouble. I see a scared girl in over her head, and I hope I can at least help her out.
