Why do we all want ZA to happen in Real life?

Are we seriously that much upset with our lives? or its just our view that world will be adventurous and we all gonna be badasses like daryl/rick/kenny/lee etc?

  • If a ZA would happen then damn I'd be an expert at this by this point. Thanks Kirman & Telltale!

About the question, I don't know. Lots of people want just to abandon their old lifes, some just hate everyone and everything. Me personally, I wouldn't want one but if it would happen, I'd be so good at it!

I'd want to be a Negan!!

  • I guess its a fantasy. The pure freedom without having to go to work, school and unbound by law. I feel if it was to really happen it would be a lot worse than what people expect.

  • Doubt it would last as long as the entertainment industry wants us to believe. Shit would hit the fan and people would become monsters and badasses, but it'll be over quick. Then humanity would be restored to its regular chaotic goodness.

  • Lawless adventure and the ultimate test of survival

  • Yeah it won't be about "Adventure" once you see somebody you care about getting torn apart.

  • I don't want a ZA, the people who say that they want a ZA to happen are just as crazy as the people who want a real life purge to happen.

  • We want it to happen because the world is a cesspool of corruption. The rich shit on the poor and the poor shit on the poorer. Politicians lie to get into power and then lie to stay in power. 90% of what they promise you they will never deliver on. A ZA will wipe the slate clean.

  • This. It would be completely different from what people think. For one thing playing a video game doesn't equal real life training. Everyone who thinks they would be so good at it because of video games would quickly realize they aren't. At all. Constant work with little to no rest, very little sleep, constant hunger because you only eat what you catch or find growing wild, etc.

  • But what are the chances you survive? You may think it's adventurous, but there is that chance you won't survive the first week and then billions of lives will lost. This isn't a game, this is the real deal, because once somebody you know gets eaten or shot or worse, you can't un see that. once your dead or somebody you know is dead. That's it, their gone. There is no coming back. There is no "checkpoint" or there is no "respawn".

  • I don't. I am fairly aware of what would actually happen, and it wouldn't be good.

Besides, I would be a zombie most likely, instead of the person killing zombies.

I believe people who want a ZA just want to be able to kill people with no consequences.

  • I don't want it to happen because I know that I'd be the first to go, and so would most people on here. People are forgetting that about 99% of the population are (un)dead in TWD. Everyone always assumes that they'd be the ones to survive and outlive all the others, when the reality probably looks like this: If we assume that there are 300 people in this subforum, then 200 would be dead within a day, another 75 would die within the first week and 20 would die after having survived for a while. Five would live through the first year, and mostly because they got lucky. Of these, maybe two or three would last as long as Rick. As shitty as life is now, you'd die a gruesome death and walk around as a mindless corpse if a ZA ever happened.

  • people like to fantasize and idealize it because they think they'll be a badass or just don't like the world they're living right now and want something like a ZA to be like a soft reset sort of thing. i think it'd lose it's charm to people after the first few days, or seeing enough people die.

that being said, i wouldn't really want one to happen, but i idealize it time to time, wondering how/where i'd end up after a week or two (if not dead). i'm sure lee wouldn't have seen himself living in a motor inn with a little kid to protect, so it makes you wonder just where the hell you'd end up. :p

  • Most of us would be eating our neighbors, classmates and co-workers.

  • I think the people who do want it to happen most likely get lost in the fantasy of no rules, no government, and survivalist stuff. They probably think about it because they are bored with the day to day grind of ordinary life. It's fantasy though. If the world truly did have a zombie apocalypse, they would be begging for the boring life back.

  • Video games / TV Shows teach us basic things like where to go (stay away from cities), what to eat (canned food because it lasts long), how weapons work (not so much but basic stuff), they certainly don't teach us how to deal with killing zombies / people or how to threat wounds. Of course it would be a lot of different from video games, people would panic but still at least we know the basic stuff.

  • Wipe the slate clean? LoL no it wouldn't. It would amplify it. The people with the guns would either kill, enslave, or rule with an iron fist over those who didn't. We'd just go back to how things were run 5000 years ago.

Agreed. Watch how organized people fight in real life. Zombies wouldn't stand a chance. A single person with an AK 47 would kill probably hundreds of zombies or until they ran out of ammo.

  • I guess you're right as in you would be more educated than normal people, but really, many would die after a few days purely from drought as it would be extremely hard to find a usable water source and I doubt a lot of people would know how to purify it so its safe for drinking. Also, people aren't stupid. They'd be flooding out of cities and edible canned goods would be a rarity in the first few weeks at most. Also games don't at all tell you at all how to aim, handle, fire or even load a gun.

All I know is that all people in Brazil would be 100% safe :P

EDIT: Ok, maybe not 100%, but at least 70% :v

  • edited March 2016

why? Large densely populated, and poor cities with strict gun laws? Na I don't think Brazil would do well...

I'd probably be the Ben or Sarah of the group. I bet people would jump at the idea of throwing me in a horde of zombies to save their own skin or just because they didn't like me. Besides, no matter how corrupt the world is now, I don't want it to get more fucked up. Who wants that?? Like seriously that's literally asking for death. I like living, thank you very much.

  • LOL , 6 feet wall on almost every house, crazy ton of criminals ( that would make up "bases" with the guns they have ) and, excluding Rio and São paulo ( too many people ), the rest of the country has not that much population with really far cities and a lot of military barracs ( every state capital has at least 30, in which at least 10 vigilants with guns guards 24hrs { yes, my father is from the army } , plus the fact that we have amazon, with a lot of trees separating the main city (Manaus) that is very far away from any other dense population city, the only thing that wouldn't help is the "anti-gun" legislation ( for obvious reasons ), but besides that, almost every house would be a safe zone, as long as the door is closed :P

I have a few animal abusive neighbors I would like to take out if, or when, the ZA comes. Not really evil for me too do.

If it were to happen, I'd prefer to become like Joel from The Last Of Us, as opposed to Kenny for three big reasons:

    1. Joel is a much more vicious fighter than Kenny. If you watch how he fights, he's a nightmare for anyone who crosses him.

    2. He's a lot more mentally stable than Kenny is. Kenny was more than likely suffering from a degree of insanity in Season 2, brought on from all the loss he had experienced, much like Rick did on Season 3 of the TV show.

    3. Joel is able to remain cool in a tense situation. Unlike Kenny who would panic on a dime. Keeping calm is the thing that can save your life. "When things are looking bad, and it looks like your not gonna win, that's when you gotta get mean - I mean pure dog-gone mean. Because if you get panicky and lose your head, then you neither fight nor win. That's just the way it is!" - Clint Eastwood.

    4. And this is more of a sidenote: For some reason, and I don't know why, but Joel looks to be physically stronger than Kenny, which lends itself well to combat.

The only difference is, is I would like to retain the humanity that I have now.

  • if DO get your old life back thro that is the question - mostly when zombies come they come to stay.

I would like a week to experience it just to see what it's like (like a simulation but I don't know that I'm in one) but if one was to happen then obviously I would want my old life back

  • The fantasise that is the ZA: well I guess its a escape. Abandon the old rules as long as you adapt to the new rules you life but you lose your humanity. travel wherever you want and result brutal ways.

    .......

yeah... who would want live like that? Not me. +_+ also I am guessing its pretty lonely your relationships wouldn't last in a ZA.

  • People who do want it to happen should be really careful what they wish for. For 1.everyone you know could die the worst ways and you seeing them a walker.2.they would starve daily, forcing them to hunt and if they can't...3.Every day that goes by decreases the chances for them to find another group.I could go on and on on how this world won't last a day in a zombie apocalypse so I think this world is at where it needs to be
