Hypothetically: If Luke were to return in S3?

  1. What do you think he would look like?
  2. What do you think his role in the game would be?
  3. Do you think him and Kenny would finally see eye-to-eye?
  4. What do you think Luke and Clementine's relationship would be like?

I think Luke would have shoulder length hair, and possibly a goatee. And I see him having put on an extra 20lbs - 30 lbs of muscle.

I think that Luke would be more hardened and toughened since Season 2, and that he would serve as the voice of reason - to Kenny's impulsiveness. Yet unlike he was in S2, I believe he'd be more prepared to kill if he had too.

I don't know if Kenny and Luke would ever become friends per-say, or that they would ever see eye-to-eye. But I do believe that they would grow to respect each other - even if it's begrudgingly so.

Depending on their relationship in S2, I believe that Luke and Clementine would be like brother and sister. Given that there was a time skip between S1 and S2, it would make sense if the same thing happened between S2 and S3.

  • How would it make sense if there was a timeskip between season 2 and 3. The only reason there was a timeskip between 1 and 2 was because there was one in the comics I think. The games can't progress further than the comics. And hypothetically, because Luke is 100% dead. I doubt he'll suddenly find some protein shakes and a working set of weights and bulk up.

  • I think we would see him as a popsicle

    Because that's what he is

What do you think he would look like?

This is a funny one for me to answer, because often I think of way, way ahead, like what might he have looked like in ten years. If we're talking about a year, appearance wise I don't think there'd be much change. Other than dressing more practical for the ZA, the hair would be styled a little bit differently sure, but still keep that swooshy swoosh. Maybe more stubble [and yet never to be gone of caterpillar mustache; that artsy thing is a keeper.] Personality wise, perhaps being just a little less positive and optimistic, getting more of that survival guilt setting in. I think Luke would start accepting that there are people out there that do have to be killed, even if he doesn't want to do it, but still retain his humanity and morals [I guess much like what they're doing with Glenn in the show at the moment, where I won't spoil but if you saw the recent episode last week, then you know what I'm talking about and Luke probably wouldn't have been much different from that.]

Oh and mustn't forget, having the best intentions and things going to splat, probably sucking at hand to hand combat but not being too bad shooting a gun or swinging a machete, and of course still retaining the title a second year running for the worst man on guard duty ever, wherever he goes, a.k.a, getting distracted by the pretty ladies [okay well maybe not on guard duty, but you know, having a soft spot for women...the idiot.]

What do you think his role in the game would be?

I still imagine him being very much a team player, looking out for the group, but Clem and A.J as well, even if he's never been a Dad, he would try, and probably fail miserably but there you go. I think he'd still be trying his best to be a leader as well, even if he wasn't as good a leader as Lee, he'd do what he could. I've said it before a long time back, but I always saw it that if you'd given Luke a couple of years in that ZA, he'd been much better at being a leader. I'd say his age was a problem for that as well, because if you look at that point in Episode 2 where Luke was leading the group for a while, nearly all the other adults except for Nick were older than him, and they've all been cooped up in a camp for the most part as well; none of them had any field experience, so that was more put against him.

But very much like you said. He would've been a voice of reason to Kenny, and would've toughened up some, and not be completely immune against the thought of killing, but he'd be learning to deal with it.

Do you think him and Kenny would finally see eye-to-eye?

I think they would still butt heads, especially if it came to the game of 'who's the leader' but maybe they've come to some agreement here and there, and put up with one another for the most part, because hey, they need each other to survive and they've both got strengths and weakness, so in a way that's a good thing. But especially if Clementine and A.J were there and depending who else were with them, like a small group, Luke and Kenny would probably have to work something out. But I think there would be some forms of a friendship there as well I'm sure, but just basically Luke and Kenny don't agree with each other all the time, which would make sense.

What do you think Luke and Clementine's relationship would be like?

    Cute, sibling, banter.

Their sibling dynamic was actually one of my favorite things in Season 2. I think that yes after something like a year for example they'd be closer, and they'd get along better. It would be one of those things where they'd learn off each other, so Luke very much being into the role of this older brother trying to look out his younger sibling and teach her new things, but there Clem is sometimes counteracting that in a sort of 'you know what, this is really stupid plan, let's not do that, let's do this' with a sort of a team thing going there, but definitely more back talk from Clementine that she perhaps might not have done if it were Lee.

But yes, I could've seen it being a thing where Luke doesn't want to put her in harm's way, but at the same time not wanting to do what Carlos did with overprotecting Sarah and not preparing his daughter for the ZA, so Luke would have definitely made attempts to do so in a controlled environment [or what he assumes are controlled, until they're not so controlled like the fun bridge incident, woo!] where Clem can take out a walker or two and he can be there for backup if she needs it.

And I see him having put on an extra 20lbs - 30 lbs of muscle.

And, that line killed me with laughter XD

But in terms of gaining muscle, you would have to have a very good diet, as in plenty of food to keep such a body mass up because you would be burning a lot of calories, hence feeling hungry more frequently. In an apocalypse unless you're well stocked up or have lots of deer you can just go hunt and munch up, that's not happening for anybody.

What do you think he would look like?

    A zombie, obviously.

What do you think his role in the game would be?

    Eat living creatures

Do you think him and Kenny would finally see eye-to-eye?

Yes, in a literal way, Luke's eye to Kenny's eye.

What do you think Luke and Clementine's relationship would be like?

    Pretty dangerous.

What do you think he would look like?

The same? Unless there's been a timeskip...

What do you think his role in the game would be?

The same role in Season 2, be the average good guy, create good moments just to get killed later and break our hearts.

Do you think him and Kenny would finally see eye-to-eye?

In my playthrough no, Kenny is way too dead, but if he was alive then sure, they seemed to be starting to get along in Episode 5, Keny even seems sad when he dies.

What do you think Luke and Clementine's relationship would be like?

The same as in Season 2?

    1. A walker.
    2. Being a walker
    3. I doubt it, Luke being a walker and all.
    4. As soon as Clem saw Luke as a walker she would, without hesitation, axe him in the head.
  • He is dead, deal with it.

  • As stupid, ridiculous and poorly written as his death was, it was really definitive. We saw him dead (at least in one of the options).

If he were to come back, ALIVE, it would be really forced. But I don't think he would look any different. I think his role would be pretty much the same, as a big brother for Clem.

  • I don't think we need to take this on a personal level, @ShaneWalsh.

    That isn't nice.

And it says hypothetically, it doesn't mean for real, so it doesn't matter. Like hypothetically if Lee was still alive, what would his role in the seasons after be? It's just people talking among themselves.

Both of them are fucked up though!

  • Why do people get so edgy over these threads? OP clearly knows he's dead, just being creative and thinking of what would happen if he isn't. We get it guys, HE'S DEAD. But faarrrk. Can't you have a bit of fun instead of getting all salty and miserable? Geez. Fun lot you guys are.
I do agree if it were to happen it would feel forced though, because I have no idea how he would find them unless he travelled all the way to Wellington and met Clementine some how. It'd be a pretty strange reunion.

  • I think the constant amount of Kenny VS Jane threads in the past got to people's head.

What does that has to do with anything? I'd blame 'Lee is alive' threads instead.

I like that the writers are acknowledging Clementine's beginning to transform into an independent adult. She is shown to be thinking more for herself, as well as becoming more self-sufficient.

And I agree that if Lee were still alive, and if he were the playable character, Clementine would still be outspoken, but I would say a little more careful in perhaps how she says certain things. Perhaps a little more reserved - more of an observer.

And on a personal note, I think that being more of an observer is very good, when it comes to integrating into groups of people.

It's not wrong to talk - but if you talk to much, you can't help but offend someone somewhere, because your end up sa Ying some thing stupid. That's why it is better to be an observer - to watch and listen, and think about what you say before you open your mouth.

  • Judging by how his mustache and beard... situation never grew over the time we knew him, I would imagine it would stay the exact same way no matter what amount of time passes. Seeing as how him and Kenny were finally getting along in ep. 5, I think they could be buds. And Clem would still be pretty cool with em.

  • I always thought it would really fit the character for Luke to have a pony tail in the back.
