Did you defend the ********* or the ****?

I'm talking about the smallfolk or the gate. I defended the smallfolk. What did YOU defend?

Comments

  • I defended the gate, because I thought, if that falls, all the smallfolk will die anyway.

And for some reason, I feel as if Rodrik should defend the gate, while Asher should save the smallfolk.

  • Smallfolk as I played as Rodrik and the gate was already broken anyways. I thought if Rodrik, Talia and the traitor could escape then some of the smallfolk could.

  • The gate would fall either way. Chose to save as many people as possible.

  • As Asher I chose to save the smallfolk. That gate was coming down regardless and we would have to go through those soldiers anyways before we could reach the gate. I like what Asher said... "Just... save as many people as you can". I hope some of them survived and will remember how their lord defended them.

  • As Rodrik I protected the smallfolk and damn I felt like I was pulling something out of the matrix, but as Asher I protected the gate. It just seemed like a very military and Asher type thing to do.

  • Defending the gate doesn't do anything except let your smallfolk get killed for no reason. I don't see the point of this choice, to be honest.

  • me neither. maybe if there was a smallfolk character that became friends with Rodrik/Asher, it could've been more of a choice.

  • Well if I actually was able to play the game and not stick to watching gameplays on youtube, I'd save the smallfolk. The gate brakes anyway and it was the right thing to do.

I suppose they might of died anyways though.

  • Tried to retake the gate and we didn't do so well

  • More people, more mouths to feed.

But that wall is everyone's livelihood. Both times I tried to save the gate. No regrets

  • In my first playthrough I tried to retake the gate, but I recently changed it in my Canon to Asher saving the smallfolk. It seemed more in his character to defend them, especially since he was really popular with them.

  • I chose to save the small folk - a large part of why I considered the Forresters worthy of victory was because they didn't just use their people as a human wave or random,ly butcher peasants.

True to my game style, it awarded me Instinct and Nobility.

  • Considering while I played I didn't know the effects of the choice:
-If the gate is crushed no one will survive. Saving the wall is for the greater good. Arrows could have been used then.
-If I save people the gate will eventually fall leading to everyone's death (it would be certainly a defeat)

I chose obviously the first choice.
Now, if you chose to save the smallfolk seeing and knowing the results, it's the more "productive" choice, seeing there are no counter parts to go the door.

  • I unlike a lot of you chose to protect the gate, I assumed it was pretty much all over by then and wanted to buy everyone a bit more time, and possibly take off Whitehill's Head ;)

  • Why the hell were the smallfolk running around like chickens anyway?

Shouldn't they be hiding in the building or fighting?

  • As Amaya said: "They'll scatter like chickens with their heads cut off."

Now it looks like she was talking about our smallfolk

I defended the gate. Ironrath could afford to lose its people--but not its gate. That's just the hard truth of the matter.

Plus, it annoyed me how they were just running around like clueless, headless chickens. It's like, EITHER FIGHT OR HIDE! what good is it jumping on their blades? So yeah...

"FORWARD, WE HAVE TO RETAKE THE GATE!"
