How to Backup Game progress?

I'm having some trouble. Played WD1 right through and was half way through WD2 up to the part where the bad guys get into the large house and Kenny and Clem have been reuinited.. well unfortunately once again my stupid apple keyboard was in my bag and my ipad wasn't off, and it mashed the keyboard and entered the wrong password 3 times and then my iPad got disabled so I had to erase the iPad and format it from scratch

I had not backed up my iPad since playing and I'm having to reinstall

Is there any way to retrieve where I was at all?
Telltale doesn't attach your save data to your username or anything?
So upsetting

FOR FUTURE how can I manually back up my game progress to prevent this happening?

    I don't think they save it on a cloud, almost sure it's on the computer itself

    I am not sure but I think that's windows-> Program files (o r program files (86x) -> steam -> steamapps -> common -> The walking dead ( or the walking dead season 2 ) Then I think copying the hole folder will work.

    And I heard on the season 3 waiting thread that they are actualy making a cloud storage :D
