Episode 6 ending

To continue my questions (I am currently studying abroad in Istanbul and have been for the last couple of months, and this is the first time I have checked Telltale in a long time) I was wondering which ending for the Rodrik/Asher character you think will be the most interesting? For example, I did multiple saves and the one I actually find the most interesting is when Asher calls off the ambush and tries to marry Gwyn. In this playthrough, I have found that there is much unknown and grey area as to what will happen. Will the Whitehill's just think Elissa was psycho when she stabbed Ludd? Also having Gwyn appear at the ending with Talia made things much different because now we have a legit ally on the inside. It'll be interesting to see how Talia, Ryon, and Beshka will handle seeing Asher after to totally called an audible on the posion/ambush attempt. So I ask what do you guys think the most interesting ending was in terms of the characters that are alive in your playthroughs?

  • Well it's a matter of perspective -- but I think they're all quite interesting. For me, though, Rodrik and Sentinel Royland is where it's at: I wouldn't want it to be any other way... I love having these two warrior-like figures who've been there right since the beginning... both of which somehow, refuse to die; and just keep fighting on. There is no way I want the Lord Forrester's life in the hands of a traitor, or a Whitehill.

Though, I'll admit, both instances will be interesting to observe... but as I've said, I ended the season with my three favourite characters, Rodrik, Talia and Sentinel Royland, and I couldn't be happier with that.

  • That is a good group of folks to be with as well. Gosh Royland is such a badass. I really do prefer him over Duncan just because of how Book Stannis Royland is(Not show Stannis). You know kinda that bend but don't break attitude? Yeah good stuff, I'll have to check my different saves to see if I have that ending at all, if not I'll need to try it.

  • I agree that Asher and Gwyn is the most interesting but I'm pretty happy with my canon ending. Asher and traitor Royland- It fits so well as Royland ultimately betrayed Rodrik so Asher would be Lord. "You must protect Asher, protect the true Lord of this House."

  • I am pretty satisfied with my canon ending with Rodrik, Talia and Royland. It makes the Season 1 ending a lot less bitter for me.

  • You've just convinced me to execute Duncan as a traitor. I want Royland for Season 2!

Asher with Sentinel Royland and Talia is awesome. Fuck Gwyn. Fuck Duncan.

  • I want Royland for Season 2!

As you should! Glad to be of service :)

I'm pretty happy with the "marry Gwyn" ending. I played Asher as being a poor politician--as he says himself, he was never raised to rule. He didn't want any more of his family butchered, and thought that suing for peace was what Rodrik would have done (plus he finally gets the girl). Of course everything goes to shit anyway, and we get that last scene in the woods where Gwyn scoops him up like "yeah boii you part of my political agenda now" and Asher just has this miserable look on his face cos he thought he was genuinely doing the right thing and he lost his home anyway, ultimately letting his family down.

It really adds an extra layer of tragedy to the story that's great to watch/play.

  • Asher's version is interesting to me. It was very tense carrying out the whole 'poison' thing, spending the whole time worrying about it going wrong because of me. I like Rodrik's too, though, and appreciate how different it is.
