Give No Shelter - Powerful episode

Wow, Telltale really hit the nail on the head with this. Of course, there are a couple complaints:

  • Still no hub areas...Literally why? The mansion was a perfect place for this.
  • Decision/Consequences are a bit...eh, but I don't mind too much

But wow, Telltale never cease to amaze me.

Scenarios/Scenes (Escaping Monroe, The sniper, and walker scene, climbing the collapsed radio tower, the hallucination scene, Randall invading scene, the final scene, etc.), were incredible in this episode. The characters were unique and genuine, there were powerful punches and places. I will never forget the shock that was John's death. God damn, I loved it and the decision at the end was powerful and just conflicting. So yeah, loved this episode and I love this mini-series so far, I cannot wait to see what awaits us in the next and final episode.

The hallucination sequence all the way to John's death were actually really well done from an emotional standpoint, at least in my opinion. Michonne's hallucinations really delved in to the extent of her trauma, and really helped emphasize her inner struggles. Then you're snapped out of it, and end up talking to Paige, who tells you a story that hits especially close to home for Michonne. Then it's followed up by the entire scene with John. That scene in particular immediately engrossed me, and I was able to really empathize with the guy, as well as the entire family really, even in spite of not really knowing them. It probably helped that basically everything about it was on point; atmosphere, tone, cinematography, soundtrack, voice acting... I'd honestly consider that sequence to be one of my personal favorites of the entire TWDG series.
