I really hope we get a new protagonist for S3

Playing as Clem in season 2 is a huge reason why I preferred season 1. And no not because I got to play as a strong black man, but because I was playing an ADULT.
I want to defend myself from zombies and kill the shit out of them. With Clem, its so much more unsatisfying when it takes all her strength to kill one zombie. With Lee its just "Bye bitch" and swing.

Also since they developed Clem as a character in S1 and I was playing AS her in the next game...it seemed so weird. It felt like I was controlling a robot. I didn't feel like a real person with emotions like I did with Lee. He was his own person and I loved that.

And another thing, Jesus hasn't Clementine been through enough? At this point I don't think therapy is going to cure her, she needs some good hypnotism to save her mind from all this shit. It'll be good to just give her more closure and not on another adventure where (surprise) someone she cares about will die.

Just my 2 cents guys. I really hope we have a new protagonist for S3.

  • I respectfully disagree

  • I totally agree. Clem was an okay character, but I think it's time to move on. Maybe have her grow up and be a side character, one who our new main character comes across, but I think that playing as her again will just be obnoxious.

  • I agree too. I want to play some normal person and not a robot. Make the story about the person we are playing and not just some "Kenny vs. ?"- story.

I completely disagree. I want Clementine to be the protagonist for S3. This is her story and they have been building it up for 2 seasons now, it would be pointless to just throw it out. It was very refreshing not to play as an adult for once. They made a bold move and it payed off.

Also, regardless of who the protagonist is (surprise) a character that the player cares about will die.

I really hope we play as Clementine in S3.

  • Yeah but hasn't Clementine had enough? Season 2 ended perfectly with her staying in a safe zone with a baby where they can start a new life. If Clementine fans care so much about her, then why not just give her character a break from all this pain and suffering?
Anyways I'm not going to play as an 8 year old girl in a zombie apocalypse. I want to make decisions, and kick ass whenever I want.

I would be totally fine if she was a supporting character though.

  • Disagree. She may have been through a lot, but everyone else has as well. I'm sure a new protagonist will have just as much baggage, but we won't have that familiarity and attachment like we do with Clementine. A lot of the reason why TWD is so good imo is because your not suppose to he some Badass dude in the ZA, ultimate survivor. It's the feeling of powerlessness and vulnerability while desperately surviving. Clementine embodies that and over comes this time and time again.

  • No . That would be a dumb move. No Clem no buy.

  • They should totally keep her in the game, just not as a main character. A side character very close to the main protagonist would be the best way to go, I feel.

  • It's down to the persons preference, that's why the game is tailored by YOUR decisions. So people are going to support it or not.
I personally feel that Clementine is at her best when she's the secondary main character to the player character. Not that she's a little girl, but that S1 worked so well because by Lee's viewpoint, he was her guardian and protector. She did better being the sidekick because the player felt they had to protect her and her character was more developed in S1 then in S2. I hope in S3 if they do decide to keep her, she has the same role as S1 because that is what Clementine is to this game, the little girl to be protected, not a 11 year old who has the strength to kill full adult walkers with brute force. That's like not making Kenny opinionated, his character wouldn't work.

  • No Clem no buy.

I hope people realise how cringy that phrase sounds

I'm ok with some changes . But they should keep Clem as the main protagonist period.
