The Thing About Gryff

The thing about that slimy pig is that everything is wrong with him. He says Rodrik needs to be put in his place, yet we all know it's Gryff that needs to learn his place.

The way he acts all high and mighty as if he is a lord hurt my ears.. especially hearing Harys call him "Lord.", drove me nuts and announcing Gryff's arrival "Show your respect to Gryff Whitehill.. FOURTHBORN son of Lord Ludd Whitehill." Yeah.. mighty impressive, FOURTHBORN. I loved the way Royland counter-attacked with "Show your respect, the Lord of Ironrath stands before you.. Rodrik, firstborn son of Gregor the Good." Why didn't we get an option to punch Gryff when he called Gregor dead.. if I was a lord and he said that.. ohh he'd die right there.

It's also about how he sat back on a horse and his men killed Asher (in my playthrough), he has the nerve to call Rodrik a coward for being in Ironrath.. his own keep. I showed the little idiot MERCY.. I didn't even punch him once when he was restrained, I was half expecting for Telltale to take that choice into account and Ryon would be left with those marks if you maimed him, and showing mercy he'd be completely fine.. but what do I find.. he was marked with bruises.

Going back to his punishment, I showed him mercy, everyone else at least hit him twice to blinding him in one eye. I was protecting Ryon at all costs so no calling me a coward there.. protecting House Forrester is the right thing to do.

The kid's only around I'm guessing 17-19, especially being a fourth born and all.. (if anyone knows his age, much appreciated). I know he had a hard life as a child.. being bullied by his brothers and wanting to be the one to mess people about for once.

I'm so glad I killed him.. his death wasn't even worth it and so he bled out of his wound.. I pretty much killed him anyway.

And there you have Gryff Whitehill.

Maybe because you don't punch people for telling you the truth - unless you've found the secret option, allowing you to resurrect him in your playthrough.

  • I'm saying it was an insult to his memory. Gregor lead the Forresters greatly.

  • Im so glad he died in my game

  • I didn't get to complete episode 6 but I saw the whole gameplay, i would kill Ludd as Rodrik but I will hope I get to kill Gryff next season.

  • Gryff is actually one of my favourite characters. I think he's awesome. I love his rivalry with Rodrik, all interactions between those two are awesome. Which is why I'm a little disappointed that he's dead in my playthrough.

  • When does Royland introduce Rodrik's title? I didn't hear that on my playthrough

It only happens if you pick silence, meaning Royland has to speak for Rodrik to avoid appearing weak. And Gryff replies "Last I heard it was 'Gregor the Dead'"

  • in which conversation was that, if I may ask? I'd love to know

  • Another Gryff hate thread. I don't see people's need to go on a barrage of hate against a character who is obviously meant to be written that way.

  • Gryff's first appearance in Episode 3.
