Thoughts on Alpha? (Comic spoilers through Issue 150)

I am just wondering if anyone here actually likes Alpha. I absolutely despise her, for very obvious reasons, even though when we first met her I was kind of neutral. She's definitely a very odd yet unique in the Walking Dead universe. I mean I guess I can sympathize with her a little bit, given the thing with Lydia, but it's hard too. I think when a backstory issue eventually comes out on her, I will have better thoughts maybe. She isn't the kind of villain you love to hate, like Negan.

Oh, P.S., if you have something from past Issue 150, I ask that you spoiler tag it, since not everyone reads by issue (like me), even though I'm pretty sure she doesn't even appear past that as of now.

I absolutely despise her, for very obvious reasons,

I completely agree, I still dont know if shes higher than comic governor in terms of evil but I think I hate her more

even though when we first met her I was kind of neutral.

See, I kind of hated them from the very beginning as their a total pack of freaks. There basically zombies and I kind of hate the whole group. Woodbury and the saviors were mostly decent people with a tyranical leader, this shitshow is horrific

I mean I guess I can sympathize with her a little bit, given the thing with Lydia

How? Because she cried? Because the stuff with lydia has to be the worst thing about her. Not that I like Lydia, she a little freak as well (though suited to carl)

Yeah I just hate her, im hoping shes a short lived villan. I kind of respected the gov even though he was so evil however this "alpha" just makes me laugh along with the skin wearing.

Im not sure how id rank them

I think the gov was worse than her in terms of morality but im still debating that. Though again I hate her group and their philosophy in general

Well, Alpha killed a pregnant woman (even though she probably didn't know that), and lets people get raped. The Governor causes Judith's death and rapes Michonne.

Yeah, it's tough choice. I think Alpha being the current one compared to the Governor which was years ago, also makes it skewed. I'll probably to have to see Alpha kill more people to determine my decision.

Yeah, I was pretty disturbed about them just attacking Dante's group, and they were really weird, but I think when they gave back Ken and Dante I had thought they could be reasonable. I was wrong. The skin stuff is just disgusting and horrific.

Yeah, because she felt some remorse. But you're totally right, the fact that she let it take place is God awful, and Lydia is feral.

Yeah, the Governor definitely feels more respectable, but I can't really respect someone like her who goes around and murders unarmed innocent kids.

Yeah, I somewhat doubt in a real zombie apocalypse anything like this would ever happen. I must say I'm curious how they formed, but uh yeah. Anarchy like that.

  • I wouldn't say that I like her, but the comics have made me sympathize with Alpha more than they ever did with the rest of the villians a.k.a. Brian Blake the disturbed creep that raped his undead niece, and Negan the forty-year-old little kid who seemed to think that war was a game.

I find Alpha a complex character. She didn't sever the heads of twelve people and introduced them on pikes to declare war. She did that in order to warn Rick what could happen if him and and the rest of the communities continued to tresspas the barrier of what they considered their land and kept killing them—quite justified, in my honest opinion, at least from her point of view, even if it had the opposite effect on the people from the communities.

Say whatever you want, but the issue in which she is seen regretting letting Lydia go, and possibly questioning her parenting skills, made me realize that she is human, too. Michonne, for example, left her husband and little daughters in order to move closer to the firm in which she worked as a lawyer, and she also regretted it later, because if she hadn't moved, she could've possibly saved them when the outbreak started. Nobody seems to question her, though. I know the situations weren't the same, but it's an interesting parallel.

  • I think she is the worst person we met so far. Negan just killed Glenn in a brutal way but Alpha killed Rosita, Ezekiel and a lot more. She is nuts and I wish to see her die by the hands of Negan in a few chapters.

    What the fuck?

She decapitated children and pregnant women? All over a barrier they didnt know existed. She wasnt justified in anything,

Michonne went pre apocalypse to work a job furthur away from home, alpha let her own daughter be raped for some weird ideology

Im not sure shes worse or better than the other villains but shes an evil psycho leading a group of feral savages wearing human skins. They dont even claim to be human anymore.

I think she's the evilest bitch in the comics, but she's still a well-written character. Kind of like Melisandre in Game of Thrones.

  • I think we know there are enough f***k up people in the planet that this might actually happen.

Anyway i'm preatty sure its like the guts, only permanent. They wear it so walkers don't notice them. I'm sure the messed up philosophy came later.

I completely agree, I still dont know if shes higher than comic governor in terms of evil but I think I hate her more Well, Alpha ki
