Or maybe I'm trying to prevent conflict, or I wanted to see ryon c: ah well. Its not much of a story changer, though it's nice to have had him at the funeral.

The reason I didn't do it is because Rodrik was trying to impress Elaena Glenmore so she wouldn't break off their betrothal and he could have the support of her father's army against the Whitehills. He had to show he was still powerful and brought something to the table so they wouldn't feel they'd have to carry him. I thought kissing lord whitehills ring might undermine that.
I hear you about unpopular choices though, I felt a bit bad when I saw only something like 16% of players chopped Erik's fingers. Like, I'm not a monster honest!
I kissed the ring because I wanted to play Rodrik as a man who would do anything for family (I say as I had him leave Asher for dead and leave Ryon to kill Ludd...) But besides that I did really want Ryon to be there to appease Elissa, and since I already got the promise of marriage from Eleana I wasn't that worried she would go back on it if I kissed the ring. Telling her it was for Ryon seemed to make her understand.
I didn't do it, but I wish I did.
I had too much pride to do it.
