This have been talked quite often. And once again, I will happily keep declaring my fealty to Rodrik.
I like Asher, but I just find Rodrik so much more interesting and engaging. But it is a matter of personal opinion. There aren't a right or wrong choice, the only right choice is the one that you personally feel most right about. Mine just happens to be Rodrik.
This has been debated numerous times on this forum. Both Asher and Rodrik fight almost exactly the same in episode 6, I think in the end it's all subjective.
If it came down to a fight I would give the edge to Asher. He would fight dirty. If he learned anything in Essos it was that winning the fight is all that matters. Dead men can have all the honor they want.

"He was House Forrester's best by far" said Gared about Rodrik. But after getting hurt during that marvellous wedding, I think Asher can take down his brother easier than he would kill a grandma. After Rodrik's recovery though, they have exactly the same skill. Yet, I suppose Asher still wins in the end. he's faster with his essosi sword than rodrik is with his greatsword.
