The 5 different endings can really impact the game

  • With Jane and family
  • With Jane
  • Alone
  • With Kenny
  • With Wellington.

I really hope the choice I made at the end matters. I am at Wellington and I hope they can make this worthwhile in Season 3. Season 3 episode 1 should be the biggest replay value episode we've ever had

    If they make these choices have a big effect, I think their biggest challenge is having to basically construct a different environment for each story path.

    There are so many branching possibilities in those final minutes of Season 2 that it's hard to imagine Season 3 picking up where the story left off. Which thread would it choose? Selecting just one to exist as "canon" would rob the other choices of their meaning, and that's not what Telltale is about.

    "It is not from the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before."
    "When we got to Season 2, we had a plan in the back of our minds of how we would make all these endings keep those threads going forward," Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner told Mashable.

    Season 3 will take an "unexpected" approach, according to Bruner. Lots of people in the fan community are expecting something that neatly ties together all the possible threads, but Bruner promised that it won't be nearly so obvious.

    "From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before," he said.

    Here's my theory about how new players can play directly from season 3: I think clem will have various flash backs of major things (choices) that happens in the past which informs the player of what happens in the first 2 seasons, also the choices will be produced randomly

    I doubt their ability to add meaningful diverging paths at the start of the season. Seems like too much work, but they have gotten bigger so who knows. It will be nice to see Clementine back, although after S2 I am not holding my breath for anything, really.
