Hi any word on when episode 1 of telltale batman will release on the ps3? I've read it says late August but we're finishing August and still no episode 1 for the ps3. Any chance by Tuesday or Wednesday
If you check the game page for Batman, its been sadly changed to coming soon. Considering the physical release launches the 13th it has to be before then. I know it sucks, but hopefully this is the last delay we'll have to go through with this series.
I really fucking hope they have a Q&A at their panel this week, and someone calls them out on the delays for the last gen versions, and the obvious broken PC port.
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. TELLTALE!!!!!

Just browsed telltale's twitter...
The second episode of batman will be released on the 20th of September for PC, PS4 and XBOX ONE (I hope I'm not repeating this information)
Still a loooooong way to go if you ask me

They're obviously running into issues with last gen, and I guess they don't want to promise a release window they can't follow, so hopefully they can follow through by the 13th with the physical releases.

Has there been any information on the Mac release?
I understand issues need to be resolved before releasing the game, but there has been very little if any acknowledgement from TT about the delay.
The lack of customer service is worrying and it's a lack of respect for people who have preordered the game, especially when TT is hyping the second episode.
At the very least, offer a partial refund for the season pass.
There has been zero information on the mac release, I'm afraid. It was originally meant to be coming in August, which implies they might not be that far off.
This is the first time ever that Telltale has released the Mac version separate to the PC, and the longest wait between the first people getting it and the final groups (PS3, Mac, XBOX 360) being able to play.
They're probably having trouble with the new engine (as evidenced by the abysmal lag experienced by lots of people) and either can't port properly to Mac and last gen, or want to fix all the problems on them before they release it.
The problem's been exacerbated because they're doing one episode a month, which makes it a bit of a slap in the face we haven't heard anything. On the bright side, we might get lots of episodes available to play at once when they get it working.

I'm pretty sure Game of Thrones had a similar issue where the Mac version was delayed. They were very quiet about the issues then and are with virtually all TTG game episode delays, as well. I've learned to stop pre-ordering or buying the season pass too early because of the constant delays and lack of communication.

Any mobile fam still waiting here? Kept completely away from all the news, interviews, trailers, etc. so I still have no idea what to expect. I'm pretty excited. Although kinda ironic that Episode 2 is coming out the same time as mobile gets Ep1. Hopefully this was just due to the TT Tool upgrades and won't be a regular thing with the rest of the episodes, or this'll be like the Amid the Ruins wait...
Ep 2 comes out on the 20th; the mobile premiere is this week. As you said, I figure it is them trying to get the game running better on mobile and/or making appropriate graphical changes since, this time around, Telltale's engine has a lot of graphical changes for PC/Consoles that would be more taxing for mobile platforms.
I'm just a volunteer moderator with no advance info, but I would guess that this is a one time deal for mobile users. Or, even if there is a delay for future releases, I would not see it being this far off between the initial release and the mobile release. Telltale likes to release the episode as close together on different platforms as they can typically, but their new engine caused them to make some temporary changes to their normal method of releasing episodes.

I know that your opinion will have no effect on the actual release, but do you think the same could be said for last gen? That is if the digital release of Batman on last gen even happens the same day as the physical release...

The way I see it, I am guessing that such a lengthy delay in releases for mobile/previous gen consoles is mostly due to Telltale working out the kinks in their current engine upgrade, since Batman Episode 1 is the first episode/series to use their current upgraded engine. For future episode releases and future series premieres, I would not guess that mobile/previous gens will lag behind as much if Telltale is able to have their engine better optimized for those platforms by then. With their last several episode releases, it seems that they have had a goal of getting all episodes to release on the same day as opposed to the same week. With Telltale's push for having episode releases on different platforms line up, I can't see them going in the opposite direction to such an extent for future episode/series releases.
At some point, I can see them dropping support for 360 and PS3 if optimizing their engine for older platforms is too much trouble for Batman and Walking Dead: New Frontier (assuming that New Frontier is coming to 360/PS3, that is). Mobile releases will obviously stick around, but since the current engine has a lot of graphical upgrades which would have to potentially be reduced or configured for mobile platforms, the mobile releases will probably have more notable changes in visuals.

It seems Telltale just recently today revamped their main home page to advertise Batman heavily, and it includes a link to a new TV commercial. I think that might be the start of some of their marketing push.

Well that's good to hear. I saw last gen in the available to download listing, so that must be a good sign it will be out tomorrow.
TV… more commercial
The commercial looks great, but I think I can hear the QTE miss sound effect when Batman jumps off the building to save Catwoman. Pff

ihhh when can batman be downloaded to the x - box 360 !!!
It really sucks that I can't play it yet
Before September 13th I guess. Telltale's being really weird about the last gen ports.
I'd like to congratulate you on being literally the first person I've EVER seen spell it like that.

Or the fucking Mac version.
Guess we are stuck with the ps3 disk then and probably have to wait longer for ep 2
I'm happy that the mobile version comes out the day the physical releases
Well, it seems Telltale finally joined the crowd of developers that screw over mac users.
At least episode 1 might come out in playable shape.
After episode 3 comes out on PC.

Yeah, there's waiting thread for episode 2 as well.

Why wouldnt they? Their playerbase is, relatively, small and even smaller on last gen.
Strange. I have a German account.

Hope on Sept 13 , the mobile version will release and not delay
Oh, OK. I don't remember that one but I didn't follow GOT that closely so maybe I missed it.
Tensely waiting for season 2 though
Yeah me too
Rumor has it mobile users are still getting fucked over
TFW episode 2 releases for PC soon.
Feels like the Skyrim PS3 DLC all over again...
Physical release comes out Tuesday, which includes last gen, so I'm pretty confident it will launch digitally for last gen too.

Poor Playstation 3 users.
Yeah mobile does have some good looking games so the new graphical engine should be hard but for PS3/Xbox 360 I don't think they can
the physical release comes out tomorrow and they've barely done any marketing recently. That's troubling.

Maybe not Episode 2, but I can see the schedule being lined up around Episode 3 or 4 if I had to guess.

Telltale are going to get a shit ton of fallout from all these delays. Why bother giving out a date you clearly can't promise.
