What Do You Think of The New Design Engine?

I hate it. It looks like BorderLands 1 and T.E.S - 4 - OBLIVION made love and birthed a cheap and nauseating looking wax baby. If the game had looked like MICHONNE or BATMAN I wouldn't bitch, but I just can't help how it looks. The design is an instant turn off for me and how Clem looks really pisses me off. I thought she was gonna look like that picture of her in the coat with a shotgun, that's the Clem I want to see, the one in the teaser looking nothing like the season 2 Clem. I don't see any resemblance.

I think it's a good improvement, 60fps and a lot of skin and light effects added. Still no projecting shadows from characters, that's quite off.
I like they inserted some physics effects, and the polycount is surely improved. Still I don't know if it's due to Tessellationor not: if not is a missed chance, expecially for scaling to low performance devices.
Overall is a good improvement, but it's still somewhat distant from actual hadware capabilities.

Clem's deisgn is cool to me, but I don't like the shiny eyes of both the protagonists.

  • I personally love the new look. Its got this grittier look similar to that of the comics the game is based on. But, I wouldn't mind some sharper outlines on the characters since they do look a little basic as of right now. Its likely that the models are still being worked on and that the final product will look way better than what we saw from the teaser.

  • Honestly I love it, the hair physics are cool, new gun models and so much more. It looks great to me.

  • It looks great, Clem looks great, the walker looks great, I look great.

    Loved it.

  • Looks like it's matching the recent Comic Book art to me.

  • I like it. Clem actually looks like a little girl instead of a game character, but she still retains features that make her who she is.

I really did wanna see coat!Clem at least once, though.

Do you mean like, the characters don't have shadows on themselves? I think they do now.

  • Aside from the hair physics, Javier's shirt has some cloth physics too.

This new engine is blowing me away.

  • The shiny eyes might take some getting used to with this graphics style xD
