What other characters does Rick Grimes on the show remind you of?
For one - Rick reminds me of Joel from TLOU - in that no matter how bad things get he continues to find a reason to stay alive and to fight.
Another character that Rick reminds of is Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. If you study how Mr Lincoln portrays Rick - he gives the character an inner rage and brutality - while at the same time givrs him a certain level of humanity - much like the Wolverine.
In fact, based on Andrew Lincoln's performance as Rick - if The X-Men were to be turned into a TV show - I would say Lincoln would be perfect for the part of Wolverine.
And finally, I would say that Rick's character resembles very much Viggo Mortensen's character in the film: The Road. In the film - the Man shares a very close bond with his son - and it is that bond that sees them through their journey - above all else.
Rick is very similar in that everything he has done has been to protect his son and daughter first, and by extention all the other members of the group. Though he has sunk to greater levels of brutality and violence in order to do so.
