Did anyone think the station wagon in season one was going to play a big part in season one ?

I'm interested in everyone's first impression when the group come across the strangers station wagon at the end of starved for help.
Did you guys think that it was going to play a big part in the series giving the group stole from the wagon? Or did you kind of brush it off thinking it was only used to see if you sided with clementine or the group ?

I'm also curious, did anyone originally guess the twist before it happened ? Like we all knew about the stranger contacting clementine, but did anyone originally get it right that he was the owner of the station wagon ?

I stole from the wagon and basically brushed it off as a difficult choice that had to be made in front of Clem. I was completely blindsided when the stranger revealed who he was. I remember feeling terrible, it was like my guilt from the entire season just came rushing to the surface during that brief interaction.

  • This was something i really liked that Telltale did. Nope i had no idea and was very surprised when i found out that it was the strangers station wagon and how he was out for revenge. I wish season 2 had something similar but sadly not.

  • Nope, not at all. I am going to admit that The Stranger is one of the weaker Teltlale villains, but still the twist was good. I love the idea of a seemingly difficult but at the same time meaningless choice coming back to bite you like that.

  • In a sense I didn't think it would play a part in the beginning, but given it's a Zombie Apocalypse no one is safe and anything can happen.

  • I didn't know it would, but when Lee approached the Marsh House and I saw the wagon I instantly knew...

  • Nope. It was one hell of a twist.

  • First time..I thought there would be a more immediate effect for stealing from it...when I saw it in episode 5 I was like ahhh shit....well played TellTale..well played.

  • I did... I didn't steal from it at first cuz i thought the owners of the supplies would appear during the scene and be friends or enemies depending on what they saw you doing, or anything similar to this.

  • I figured that stealing from the wagon in my first playthrough was going to come back and bite me in the butt later, but I wasn't sure how or when. Definitely a great twist during episode 5 that's for sure.

  • I hope we get something like that again in Season 3, like not a rehash but something similar but really different, to give that accountability.

  • I didn't steal from the car because I figured the owner(s) could still be nearby and not necessarily dead. I also thought they might ambush the group if you stole from them. When nothing happened, I assumed it was another plot device to force you to side with or against Kenny. I never expected the situation to have any bearing later in the game beyond affecting Kenny's attitude.

  • Nope actually. It came out of nowhere. I only figured it out when I saw the station wagon outside the Marsh House and I was like Ooooooh Shiiiiiiit.

  • It's been quite a bit since my first play-through, but I believe I didn't think anything of it at the time. Just a moral choice. Since then TT games have kept me on edge, which is awesome.
