Listen Vanilla Ice, Luke is dead! (I'm bad at puns) Luke was a well-liked character by most people, so I get why people would want him to return. However, you can actually see him dead depending on your choices. It's very very very very very unlikely we'll see him return alive. If he does return, then it will just feel so contrived and unrealistic. Yes, I know it's a video game and unrealistic things have happened before, but that is really pushing the suspension of disbelief.
