They are also the ones who gave us Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul is a pretty great show too.
The thing about it though is that AMC didn't fully own either of those two shows. In fact, they didn't even have heavy involvement in the production of BB or BCS, if memory serves correct. They have full rights to TWD on the other hand, meaning that it's pretty much at their mercy. Breaking Bad got to go out on its own terms, ending when it did and all that. But TWD? TWD's their money-maker, and they own the rights to it, and they have every intention of keeping it going for as long as they need it to. And they've got enough say over what goes that they can bend the strings to keep a steady stream of both viewers, and by extension money, flowing.
I just don't have much trust in AMC, as much as I hate to say it. Or rather, I don't trust them with full rights to a series, effectively allowing them to keep a stranglehold on things if they wanted to, or if it provided a benefit to them in some way.
Not sure why everyone's hating on AMC. The Walking Dead is still a good show. I hated the cliffhanger as much as anybody but once Season 7… more starts rolling, everything will be fine.

My number one choice would be HBO just because they could actually do an 18+ Walking Dead.
Heck ya! Maybe they could have the games voice cast "guest appear" Millissa Hutchinson as:"Clem's 1st grade teacher!" The real issue would … morebe finding the perfect child actress for Clem. That's a total landmine unto its self! Won't happen fun thought though!
I wonder if Steven Yeun will still be featured as Glenn in the beginning. But it will have tons of filler since the season 1 has 5 episodes and need to somehow make up the full season.
Maybe we can see the Mark filler scenes and the motor inn having conflict with the bandits before Ben dealt with them.
Because AMC have too many restrictions unlike HBO. It's a shame really. I honestly don't get what the big deal is on why they won't allow the word "fuck" and yet they don't mind showing Hershel getting his leg cut off or the Governor beheading him as well as other gruesome moments? What the hell?
Hey, maybe Lee's alive in the show, since things probably didn't happen the same way! I just hope they never show us, since as I said, I don't think anyone could do them justice. XD
You are right!
There is a version of every game and comic character in the television series and vise versa, assuming that they were born and didn't get devoured at the start of the outbreak.
Dan, it's the regulating corporation who issues the restriction, not AMC themselves!
They would go bankrupt—exaggeration—due to fines if they had characters say "fuck" ten times an episode. I am sure that they would if it was allowed to them.

regulating corporation, a bystander on the street, my cat or the milkman, it doesn't matter who is responsible, the point is, i said AMC because i do not know the name of or who the culprit(s) is/are. Shameless (the UK version), swear a hell of a lot during episodes and there is no restrictions there. Come over to the UK Walking Dead, we won't have restrictions like that. I mean, it doesn't need swearing every second like in TWD game but it seems more natural with this type of show/game, i'm sure people agree. I fear for Negan's character who will be watered down so much due to restrictions

Games should stay games. That's all in have to say.
No, I'd never want a tv adaptation of any game that has narrative choices in them. Anything resembling a canon should burn.
They could do some animated movies with the art style...would not mind that...could also keep the same voice actors.
Carl had to grow up as his role but we can't tell if the child will continue playing the role or if they need to change for the time skip

One of my biggest problems with the TV show is that, to me, it feels like a watered down version of the comics.
I'd rather not go through a watered down version of the games.
