Season 3 Kenny

IR0NR4TH here,

As much of you are pondering over Kenny's non involvement in all of the current S3 screenshots and the teaser trailer.. it's over for him as much as it saddens me. His whole speech had me in tears and I couldn't leave him, he was all but Clementine's third dad.

With Season 3 taking place nearly enough two years after the events of Season 2.. I'm afraid to say that Kenny is/will be gone by sacrificing himself for Clementine.

As much as I loved Kenny in the whole game series, he couldn't survive forever and I'm going to be devastated to find out how he goes.. it's going to be either a reference by Clementine (Example: "Kenny saw a walker approaching us and our guns had no ammo, he.. sacrificed himself to save us.") to Javier or even a flashback. I don't know.. but I'm certainly not looking forward to seeing how he goes out.

I honestly wished he wouldn't of been made determinant and to see how only 13.5% of players are with him that's appalling considering how big the fan base of him is.. but what do you know there's always going to be haters of Kenny and just shoot him without realizing of who the better person is to take care of Clementine and AJ and that's Kenny.. not Jane. Ughh.. I'm even shivering over typing her name into this discussion. ERASE ERASE ERASE Both of my playthroughs had me go with him and stay at Wellington. No way am I ever shooting the man. In my main playthrough I always know that not everywhere is safe and eventually Wellington will be overrun or a member of the community will turn and start a craze like no other.

Now onto the main and conclusion of the topic:

I'm going to probably cry which has only happened TWICE in video games (One with a certain decision in Game of Thrones) and the other with Kenny's speech pleading Clementine to stay at Wellington. What are your thoughts about Kenny going out in Season 3? It's going to happen because.......... determinant characters. +1 SIN

That is not a fact, but an opinion?

That aside, I don't want Kenny to be dumped out of the story with a lame explanation or scene, and I feel the same way about Jane. Regardless of who I like the most, both of them are major characters with fans who deserve better.

I get the feeling this is what Job is alluding to in his tweet where he says he felt punched in the gut and wanting to tear up when he played the first episode of Season 3. It sounds like something bad is going to happen to Kenny ie he dies gets bit or something worse.

  • I honestly wished he wouldn't of been made determinant

I honestly would scream if they had forced me to spend another Season with him.

Oh, but what do I know? I'm just a filthy Kenny hater who can't see how good of a person he is! Hail Kenny!

  • I hope that Kenny will be in season 3, but yeah it's looking unlikely. I'm still hoping that the writers will surprise us and have him be in it long term though.

As much as I hate the fact that Kenny will die, I am glad that he's determinant. His presence ruined season 2 for a lot of people, and they'll be able to enjoy their game a lot more without him. I'm so glad every one could get an ending based on what they wanted.

I think they're working on something that will make those final choices matter, so I think we'll get a little more than dialogue. Still, Jane and Kenny will die evetually.

So...yeah, I'm gonna cry. Someone will walk in on me sobbing and think I'm insane. I just may be. This happened when Lee died. A friend came over, saw me crying and gave me this really weird look.

I think we'll see whoever you're with in flashbacks, but maybe they'll get a larger role. I don't know. And it is arguable who is the better care-taker for Clementine, and it might be better to not bring that up. Either way, both characters deserve more than just being thrown away.

(I just woke up so this is probably riddled with mistakes that I will fix later. Sorry in advance.)

  • I know it's highly unlikely for him to not die, but I just need to play Season Three first in order to see that, I mean, I stayed at Wellington but yeah, I hope Ken is okay, I hope we meet again (ON THIS LIFE).

  • Well yeah. He wasn't meant to be alive in Season 2 tbh. I thought he was confirmed to be deceased before the Season 1 DLC came out.

And also, determinant characters will still die. They are meant to be dead.

Ya never know, maybe they've learnt from their mistakes and are actually going to make an effort, putting an end to the whole illusion of choice and the curse of determinants? Then again, this is Telltale, so...doubt it. Sadly.

I like Kenny and Clem Most twd game series including Lee, they both are like families, I stayed with kenny in the walking dead season 2 and at Wellington we leave together becasuse Clem knows "we don't leave friends behind". So i can hope they will stick together atlease full episode 1 or 2, then i will be happy.

    • That moment when you see all of this Jane vs. Kenny arguing, and you let both of them die, because you thought Jane and Kenny were both crazy, crazy motherfuckers *
