My theory on how Javier and Clementine are going to be dived as Playable Characters

So as we all know now, Season 3 will have two playable characters, Clem and Javier. We also know Season 3 will have some type of Flashbacks. So how will playing as two characters be divided between episodes? Will it be like Tales from the Borderlands? Well based on what we'already know about Season 3, I had an idea that I think might be how Season 3 is played.

Telltale has said that they want to make it so now you interact with Clem in a way unlike before. You arnt controlling her, you arnt protecting her, your "getting to know her" in a different way, more like a peer. Making it so you play as Javier and Clem in the same time (Present) I feel like wouldnt be the same as "interacting and learning from Clem" about who she is. So what if all the flashbacks are Clem, maybe even telling her story to Javier. This way Javier in the present would interact with Clem as an NPC and would be who we play as in the present, unlike Clem who we play in the past. It would also fix some of Season 2's biggest complaints like "Why would anyone treat a child like an adult?"

  • I wasn't aware that this opinion was so popular. I thought of the same thing after watching the panel (of sorts) at ComicCon. I think that Javier in the present would be more interesting, as he has this family to care for. Javi could ask Clem various questions and throughout the game, there could be several flashbacks. Thus, TellTale would only need to tailor the flashbacks according to the S2E5 ending. We could see how Kenny or (in my case) Jane die. Maybe even have the flashbacks center around how or if she loses the finger!
