A Darker Clementine/Too Far Gone.

SPOILERS

I've been thinking about what choices I want for my dark Clem playthrough. I've figured them all out except for one that's nagging at me. In the end of S2 which ending do you think is better suited for a dark Clem. Alone or leaving with Jane and sending away the family?

So share your thoughts/recommendations?

BTW feel free to talk about your favourite dark Clem moments or to just talk about Dark Clem in general.

P.S with the alone ending I would do the version where Jane dies and then Clem shoots Kenny in anger.

Comments

  • I think the darkest version of Clem is letting Jane die, then shooting Kenny.

  • Definitely the alone ending where you let Jane die and shoot Kenny.

  • In my opinion, the ending that should take the prize is the one in which Clemetine shoots Kenny, condemns him on his deathbed, doesn't forgive Jane but goes with her anyway out of pragmatism, and sends the family away.

Sending away the family because Clementine realizes she can't take any chances when it comes to trust. That's because they have a kid with them and Clementine was ready to shoot them.

  • I can see some options:

    • The alone ending. I assume that Clem spends a lot of time alone in that path, that can make anyone a bit more cold and insane.
    • The alone ending by killing Jane and Kenny. Clem looses everyone and is left with the baby AJ, that's one step closer to insanity. This is also the only path where Clem comits murder.
    • Sending the family away with Jane (my ending <3). I think we can expect a cold, pragmatic and ruthless Clem in this path. She still has people she cares about and tries to protect so I'd say she is away from insanity in this one.
    • A Clem that watched Kenny kill Carver. I'll be surprised if people who choose to watch don't get a violent, bloodthirsty and messed up Clem.
  • Jane: Duuuuuuuuuur....

The funny thing about those endings is that, while Kenny and Jane aren't all right or all wrong, their endings do carry some inherently positive/negative connotations. Siding with Kenny would mean he kills Jane, but it would also mean getting Clementine and especially AJ in a position where they have supplies. Siding with Jane would mean putting down Kenny, but it would also mean returning to the root of most of their problems throughout the season and potentially becoming another Carver/Oberson or Norma/Roman or a much eviler Jane/Lily. Meanwhile, the alone Ending is much more ambiguous in that Clementine rejects both of their intentions and takes AJ into her own way, which while definitely dark and cynical, shows more of a Neutral mindset.

So, it really depends on what would be a hop or a leap.
