Introducting Pre-Season News threads

Pre-Season news threads are meant to cut down on filler discussion in waiting threads when the game is still a little while off. Closer to premiere, we will make a typical Episode 1 Waiting Thread. Unlike Waiting Threads, you guys can make your own new and separate threads to discuss any news updates instead of discussing everything here.

We will make a new post for each update! Check the date of the most recent post to see when the latest update was!

  • In an interview with Job Stuaffer, it is hinted that Telltale expects an October or November release date for Season 3's premiere.
    • "You played the first episode? Awesome! So, it doesn’t make sense to show an episode that’s already out, the second episode is still getting some final polish so we weren’t going to show that, our third season of The Walking Dead is coming this Fall, probably October or November, but our games don’t look like anything, visually, until like a week and a half, two weeks before they’re ready to go. We work very differently to most other developers. We have our final episode of Minecraft: Story Mode hitting September…"

    • "On Friday at 2:30 PM, join us for The Telltale Panel in the Hydra Theatre at the Grand Hyatt.   • Minor Season 3 news on the Michonne Miniseries Extended Preview Blog Post

    • We can’t wait for everyone to experience the bloody action and tense drama when the premiere episode ‘In Too Deep’ arrives for download on February 23rd! The second episode will follow in March, and conclude in April not long afterward. 2016 is looking to be a VERY big year of the undead at Telltale!

  • Season 3 news on the Michonne Miniseries Blog Post

    • The Telltale team has been very hard at work in the world of the undead, and while a full third season of The Walking Dead is also currently deep in development, we don’t expect to be able to share any details until after this miniseries concludes. What we can say is that we expect this to be our biggest year for The Walking Dead we’ve ever had, and we’re excited to share this decidedly very different story with Michonne that will explore some themes we’re truly excited about bringing to the interactive space.

  • During an E3 Discussion with Greg Miller, Job Stauffer implied that Season 3 will be "a long ways off" and "considerably larger" than previous games. They currently are trying to figure out who the protagonist is, and how the story will tie into Season 2 and the Michonne Mini series. He implies to expect news about Michonne in the next 2-3 weeks, and at PAX. Meanwhile, fans can perhaps expect Season 3 news "of substance" after the end of the Michonne mini-series.
