Was the Season 2 alternate endings a waste of time?

If they knew they weren't going to follow through with those endings for Season 3 why did they even bother writing them? It makes the entire season 2 finale a complete waste of time

  • You can't really say that since we don't know what impact the endings have on Season Three as of yet.

  • This.

    All choices matter, imo.

  • It seems that, as a result of people focusing on the quote about it being Javier's story, they are ignoring that Telltale directly confirmed that your Season 2 ending will tailor Clem's story. If the Amazon Product Description is true, I am guessing that Clem's Playable Flashbacks will be heavily tailored by your Season 2 ending.

  • Telltale already confirmed that our season 2 ending will be respected, so we can't tell if it's "worth it" until the game comes out

I'm sure it will make a difference, even if it's just different dialogue you get with each ending. That was how Season 2 harked back to Season 1. These are games, not a virtual reality. It would be difficult to make every decision have long term consequences or its own scene.

  • We can't jump to conclusions yet.

  • If you start writing for future seasons before you have even finished the current one then you're doing it wrong. They wrote what they thought was a great ending(s) for Season Two and thats that.
