'The Well' Episode Discussion

So after last week's dreary, sad, brutal episode, we're here for the next.
It seems the Kingdom will be introduced in this episode, and probably King Ezekiel too. Carol and Morgan should be back if that's the case.
Comment, before, which, and after you watch.

I want to see more negan!!!
I think Negan will not return for atleast an episode to highlight that his presence is a big thing. But who knows. Though the only possible way would be through Daryl I believe.
HYPE!!!!
yeah you could be right, but remember in the promo you see negan banging on the gate with lucille telling them to let him in im assuming he's talking to ricks group.
Can't wait
How's your day going guys?
Yeah, I'm guessing that's him visiting Alexandria as he promised. "Well be back in a week to collect. Until then, Tata."
So, is Carol starting to see the walkers as people now? Just look at the flowers Carol.
I have a feeling that this episode will be very slow...
I like the tiger though.
New intro!
Shiva looks very good, the CGI is not that bad.
Oh shit. Are they serving those infected pigs to the Saviors? Daryl don't eat the pork chops....
I know, its fantastic.
But lets be honest people will say it looks fake anyway. Just wait for the comment to arrive on this thread in a few days.
I don't understand what's so bad. The pigs don't get infected do they? It doesn't affect the humans if they eat the pig, I don't think.
Hey, it's Benjamin, another screw-up Ben. They're introducing him a lot earlier than when he appears in the comics.
Also, it's Richard, another minor comic character. Yay?
Remember that flu outbreak in the Season 4 prison arc? It started with the pigs. I'm just speculating but it seemed like Ezekial's demeanor took a dark turn when Morgan asked about them.
She goes crazy and leaves and becomes Alpha!
I've been trying to give it some time before I say anything on the forums but damn, I can't stand Ezekiel; he's so theatrical it's annoying.
Carol is putting on the act again, I love it.
Is Morgan really the only person on Earth smart enough to see through Carol's Stepford wife act? Tearing up over breakfast cobbler.... really?
I just assumed they wanted them to be fed faster.
(Nods slowly) I like Jerry.
I ship EzeCarol
I ship EzeCarol
Ezekiel does. Never bullshit a bullshitter.
Hm. I'm getting some vibes.
I love the way he shifted out of character so seamlessly. Carol's not the only one who can do this shit.
Theatrics aside, Ezekiel actually made some damn sense. And I'm glad they didn't wait two seasons to explain his back story. A lot of Walking Dead characters suffer for that.
Episode was alright. The tiger I dont like because it takes away the walking feel to me. I just find the Saviors much more interesting, its just weird how they think they are in medieval times. Like what others said I would rather just see more Negan, focusing on two large groups, meh, I would have waited a little to introduce them. Now Carol although, shes badass, she makes a good episode.
Ok, all good now. It's mostly an act that he hopefully never does again.
Carol and Ezekiel about to fuck.
He will, trust me. Its his character.
Khary Payton's regular voice is so different than how he does Ezekiel. I like him though.
The episode was enjoyable, I guess. I did like the whole scene with Carol and Ezekiel at the end, it was pretty good. Carol/Ezekiel romance seems possible. It was kind of funny how he just knocked on the door. The episode had some neat stuff in it, although I admit it was strange having all the theatrics (even more so than it was in the comics).
Jerry, man, I love that guy. I hope he doesn't get killed.
Just found out that Khary Payton primarily does voice acting. (Cyborg from Teen Titans, Aqualad from Young Justice etc.), which is cool because I thought he did a great job as Zeke. But what the hell happened that Dave Fennoy, another voice actor with actual white dreads couldn't get the part. I'm a little salty about that.
Great episode. Really liked how they are managing the Kingdom arc.
Seems like The Sanctuary (Saviors base) is next. Does that mean the Hilltop comes after?
I have to say, one episode in, and they've already managed to make the Kingdom feel much more alive than the comics have in the 50+ issues it's been around.
I mean, we've barely seen anything about the Kingdom in the comics. Ezekiel and Shiva were just about the only notable characters from the Kingdom, with the recent exception of William and maybe Zachary as of the latest story arc. And even then, that's just three/four people that are worth mentioning. Everyone else has shown up no more than 2 times, and we've barely even seen the inside of the Kingdom. We know there's a theater room and a cafeteria, and that's about it. In the show, we actually get to see the Kingdom as an actual living, breathing community, while it just felt like an afterthought in the comic, honestly.
Beyond that, Benjamin and Richard, two characters that are pretty much redshirts that show up for one or two scenes in the comic, are given some actual depth as characters in the show. Benjamin got a surprising amount of development for his first appearance, while his counterpart in the comic has shown up in a single scene, which was basically Rick yelling at him for being an idiot for a few minutes.
TV Richard already has more personality than comic Richard, who... I don't even remember what the hell Richard did in the comic. I think he ran into Maggie and introduced himself as Ezekiel's chief of security, then he got shot and killed during AOW. TV Richard already has tons more character, and we got to see him almost whoop a savior's ass. Pretty good first impression, if you ask me.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention the real star of the show; Jerry.
He had like 3 lines, and Jerry is now the best character on the show. He is going to become the Ken Bone of The Walking Dead.
Or TWD's Frank.
I dunno, I'm more interested in the fact that on the Talking Dead tonight Khary Payton was wearing a Cowboy Bebop T-Shirt, utterly and absolutely made my day.
I want morgan and carol to stay with the kingdom instead of ricks group.
nice! didn't even notice!
