Issue 160 Discussion
Good issue. Looks like we may know now who the people will be who will be accompanying Eugene up to Ohio. Alexandria wouldn't be able to fit all the survivors of the former Hilltop community into their own. I have a feeling though Maggie and Sophia would stay at Alexandria and most of the people who will go will be new people we don't know real well yet.

I missed Negan this issue.
I didn't. Negan has pretty much just become a character who is there to throw around one liners. His importance to the actual story has long since past.
This issue was fun... but I fear that for Sophia given her arc of late being restricted to casting jealous glances at CarlxLydia. I fear my only real ship of CarlxSophia may never sail again now that Lydia has drawn the clear line of sticking with the survivors.
The flaming arrows scene was cool and I liked that Carl checked himself like, "Oh shit! I'm still alive?!"
I'm surprised the whisperers were able to make it to the Hilltop. They must be more sneaky than Dwight had counted on if that many managed to get past the battle lines.
Yeah but still. His one liners are funny and entertaining for a lot of people. ^^
I'm reading it right now and holy SHIT this issue is intense I love it.
I wonder if she didnt hear him or just doesnt care about her mother anymore.
I think Sophia is safe. I have a feeling Kirkman has some longterm plans with Carl and Sophia eventually getting together. They really showed the divide between Carl and Lydia when Carl immediately went to help Hershel and Sophia out while Lydia chose to stay where she was at.
Did anybody notice the big plot hole there was in this issue though? It makes very little sense that the Whisperers would be able to march all the way up to the gate with those flaming arrows in hand and the guards not even notice them until the arrows were already in the air. There should have been a good amount of warning beforehand. Guess we can just chalk it up to plot convienence.
I hope it's the latter.
Same here man. Her mother was not normal.
Yeah, she deserved what she got, the babykiller.
I wonder what Negan is trying to do with killing her and desperately trying to gain Ricks trust. Rick will never trust him anymore.
Decent enough issue, I love dwight
Random chick: "Blah blah, they used to be people its so sad, blah blah we are the walking dead, blah blah.
Dwight "yeah"
Whisper: "Please dont kill m" 'BANG'
Just perfect
Anyway the rest
I'm genuinely surprised the Hilltop had no sort of patrols surveiling the outskirts. Is poor Dwight supposed to win the war all by himself?
IMO Dwight is the best character of TWD right now.
I think she heard, and I think she cared about her mother, to a point. She just doesn't blame the communities for her death, I think.
Well shit. Kirkman mentions in the Letter Hacks that they're gonna do something they haven't done in a long time in the next issue.
The first thing that pops to my head is them killing off a main character. If I'm remembering right the last main character they killed off was Glenn which was 60 issues ago.
RIP Andrea.
That was just a storytelling goof on Kirkman's part (either intentionally or unintentionally). Realistically the Hilltop should have had a bit of a warning over what was coming (no way the Whisperers could have marched right up to the gate with all those firebombs in hand without any of the spotters noticing at the very least five to ten minutes beforehand).
I think it was just a situation where he foresake a bit of realism in order to have a fun and exciting scene where people are scrambling to get out of a burning building.
Andrea is safe.
Letter hacks is evil. No point in trying to over think the smart ass remarks that are said in there. If you want to read it look at is as nothing more than something that will give you a few laughs.
Letter Hacks is about as trustworthy as Telltale's story notifications
