How bad is the situation in The Walking Dead?

I still haven't understood what is happening in the world of Walking Dead, is it just USA that has the zombie problem or all the world? Don't they have like huge military power with tanks, airplanes and other stuff to clear the zombies for good? Isn't there any functioning goverment at all?

    Unless everyone was suddenly like "fuck America!" I think it's safe to assume the rest of the world was affected too.

    Nah it's in Europe also. Read The Walking Dead: The Alien. It's only 1 issue.

    It is world wide...and there maybe some form of government some place....but then again maybe not...consider...they would have moved the President to a bunker or in the air via Airforce 1....now keep in mind that there are any number of people around him that are suddenly aware that all that they love is dying on the ground. I imagine a suicide here or there and BOOM Walkers on Airforce 1...or in a secure bunker.

    As for the Military....look at Atlanta, they were fire bombing it...but modern buildings do not burn that easily from the outside....they would have had to nuke the cities...and of course the radioactive contamination would have created more walkers. Plus in the military "Safe" zones....same thing...people lie about being bit...or they are sick and die...or they kill themselves...or an accident happens and BOOM more walkers.

    And now here is the kicker...in countries that have large numbers of guns such as the USA...we are probably better off than say The U.K. or even Russia...and god Help China and India....could you imagine a mega herd from China marching across Asia?

    So in short...the world is in deep do do.

    I think I remember it being mentioned as a global disaster. Part of the reason it spread so rapidly was that for a while no one understood that even those not bit would turn into walkers after death. The bitten ones were taken to the hospitals and police stations and taken in by the military in the beginning, so the walkers started multiplying like rabbits. The police and military would maybe have been able to stop them had there not been people reanimating within their own ranks.

    The whole world is being affected by it.

    As revealed in the special issue The Walking Dead: The Alien, the rest of the world believes that America is somehow okay and has a cure and is better than the rest of the world. As we know this is simply not the case at all.

    So if anything, the rest of the world is probably a lot worse off than the US, or at least equally screwed.
