The creation of Lee and Clementine
I tend to find it interesting how characters are initially created and the changes that come about during the process. As far as I know Clementine was there from the very beginning however the original conception of the character was quite a bit different than what we know Clementine as now.
As far as I know Clementine was originally supposed to have an older brother in season 1 and he was going to play the father figure role. I also heard she originally was intended to be caucasion.
So my question then is was Lee in the original conception of the game as well or did he come about later on? From what I have heard the main reason they chose to turn Clementine into an African American was because they cut the older brother from the story and instead had Lee be the father figure and they wanted them to be the same race so they could pass as a real life father and daughter.

IIRC they changed the player character from Clem's brother to Lee because they realized it'd be hard to play as a character who had supposedly known Clem their whole lives. The story works a lot better with Lee being the stranger with a dark past, imho.
Lee was originally conceived as Clem's older brother, but they changed it because they didn't want to have a pre-existing relationship between the two characters.
