How much do choices effect season 2?
I plan on getting season 2 today, been binging on these telltale games. Will clementine be any different dependinv on certain choices?

Not at all.
Unfortunately, I can't really think of a way that Season 1 impacted the second season, aside from a few bits of dialogue.
I'm sure it won't affect anything but dialogue. Telltale screwed Season 2 up.
This is a TT game so how she reacts to situations is up to you. Even though she was 11 in Season 2, she mentally was on part with a 17 year old. Now that she is 14 (in my story she is 17) I see her being even more responsible.
Only dialogue is affected I am afraid but I suppose determinant character appearances also count :x it's still kinda nice tbh, a bit hard to make choices from 16 months in the past have an effect but that's no excuse for the lack of it.
One time Clem says "shit!" instead of "shoot!" if Lee swore in the barn in S1E1.
I think it says a lot that that is the first difference that comes to mind.
But this comment isn't really meant to discourage you from playing it. Season 2, while not as good as Season 1, is still okay despite the Season 1 choices only affecting some dialogue. You should definitely play it before A New Frontier.
The choices work the same way they do in any other TT game. Dialogue is slightly different depending on what you pick. The game asks for your opinion on something, how youre feeling, and why you do the things you do. Usually it comes to no great affect, but how you interpret the situation and what you feel in the moment. You get some choices that change up the story ever so slightly with different scenes playing out. Mainly spending time with a character more than others or life/death choices. Nothing ground breaking here, but in the heat of the moment these choices can get intense which is why I loved S2.
