What if You Had To kill Clementine OR Javier for the sake of others?

  • I love Kenny but I still killed him (because I thought that Jane didn't deserve to die just because she failed to protect AJ). Statistics do not always determine if a character is loved or hated.

just like "barely anyone would kill kenny" in season 2 ended up being more than 80% saving jane instead. we will be playing as javier mos

  • That, or they'll stop playing because TT is going out of its way to make us hate a character we grew attached to through the two previous games, one of which she was the playable character. Can't imagine TT would do that, though.

thats cuz in s1 she was little and innocent. in s2 we were ones controlling her. but in s3, once you have no control over her and shes acting rebellious & bitchy towards javier (who were playing as) people will change there minds about her.

  • People tend to forget that Javier deserves to live as much as Clementine. In my cannon, Clem would be 17 to 18 now so she would be an adult. If we are to face a Game of Thrones, Rodrick or Asher decision, then I would choose the character that would be better suited with helping the rest of the characters. It would be a very difficult choice and a sad one also. I have a feeling that we will like Javier greatly in this season.

  • I am EVERYONE ;)

You and a bunch of people are not everyone.

  • It all makes sense now.

You still get to control clem in s3 -_- so far s3 isn't looking good though. Personality wise, she should act how we made her act in s2, I hate the typical sassy stereotype especially when it is the same in everyones game.

  • It's not really about "deserving" that word doesn't really work without knowing each character in detail. The morals, their traits, the way they act and their skills.

No, it's not about what they deserve. You save the character you care about, that is why most predict that almost everyone would pick Clem. We've been with her since the first game, played as her. We know her, we don't know Javier yet.

Not necessarily, but I'm open to changing my mind. Only a idiot is 100% certain of himself after all. No one knows how well we're going to come to know Javier yet either.

In fact, I hope telltale can make me change my mind. Or at least make it a challenge to keep my bias, then they'd have done their job well.

I'm more than willing to give him a chance, my main fear was he'd be coming in and everyone else would get pushed aside but that doesn't seem to be the case. But, if I'm gonna be asked to choose between someone I've known for years and someone I've just met, it doesn't matter how cool the new comer is. He's going lol

  • If it's a Shane vs Otis moment from TWD show, I'd put a bullet in Javier's leg without hesitation if it meant Clem survives. But no matter the situation, Clem lives in my playthrough.

  • I'm going in with a completely open mind regardless of my history with Clem. In regard to Clem, if the situation fits...

  • I hope Clementine puts down Javier in the end.

  • I will would kill clem so she can be reunited with her parents and Lee.

  • I don't know him yet. It's not fair unless that i'm attached to both Clem and Javier, now that'll be a hard question to answer.

  • In Game of Thrones I chose Asher as he would help more people and his story arc was the one that needed to be advanced in my opinion. It wasn't an easy decision, yet I am glad that I chose it. If Javier proves to advance the story and potentially help more people due to him having a high level of influence, I'll save him. This is the same for Clem.

Would kill Javier, I hope Clementine is always a part of the Walking Dead telltale games

  • Yeah, Lee didn't do that for fun. He saved her because he believed in her; even when he was going to die. So I don't think that we want to "kill" that sacrifice of Lee's.

  • Maybe. Maybe not.

Kind of a lame decision to be honest. Trying not to be rude here but come on. Barely anyone would save Javier so it's not really a choice. I really hope they don't go down this route because it would be pointless.

That's not very sure at this moment. Let's just wait and see if it comes to this.

I know that this question is a little pointless at this point, as we haven't still met Clementine or Javier in order to be able to take this hard decision. However we can still think about what we would do with the concern of the 2 previous seasons.

I consider it a ridiculousness to do this question at this point. Not only because Javier and Clementine are on unequal ground, but also

  • I know you are right because we haven't seen the character of Javier's until now, so we will have to play this season so as to be more concerned about both characters (Clementine and Javier)

    rohitvig16 posted: »

First I would play the gameplay till finale then I would be more ready to decide I know Clem is what we call the x factor of the series but who knows what Javier has in store for us he is a family man!

  • I totally agree with you, but what if you HAD to take this decision?

If I had to give one of them up, neither. I've lost too many good people in this series already.

  • I know, but this is just a theory to discuss about.

    AnimalBoy posted: »

This isn't a fair question to ask right now. The game hasn't even come out yet and no one's even had a chance to get to know Javier. I love

  • It's surely a hard decision to make.

  • That's the kinda the main reason that I play TWD, too. :D

Um clem or javier, not really that hard to pick. I'd kill javier of course. Clem is the only reason I play TWD.

  • That's understandable. This being the third game with a character makes it a bit different for me, because now they'd be putting me in a situation where I have to choose between doing what's best for the new character in his new dilemma, or saving a character I have a much longer history and deeper personal investment in due to the character driven nature of the previous entries. I'm going to choose the character who's story I've been waiting to continue over the character who's suddenly been thrown into the mix and forced to be important.

There's a difference between telling players the new character is important, and making him important to players. This is especially true if it comes at the cost of a character the previous entries were built around.

In Game of Thrones I chose Asher as he would help more people and his story arc was the one that needed to be advanced in my opinion. It was

  • If Telltale did make such a choice, (which I doubt they would), I'd be pretty disappointed. It'd be highly unfair for the character of Javier, someone who we've only gotten to know and even by the end of season 3, still won't have the same adoration to go up against Clementine, who's been there since day 1, has a legion of heavily obsessive fans and is arguably, the most popular character in the series.

Despite that, though, I'd choose Javier in a heartbeat.

  • You know, the fucked up thing about this is its essentially "Save Sarah or Pull up Jane" on a grander scale, except presumably less one-sided in context of the gameplay. Or at least, that's what I think you're getting at.

I hope it won't come to that cause, as cliche as it seems, I hope Clementine and Javier grow to care about each other enough to put off doing something like this.

  • Correction: 99.9% of people, lol

    Nikolaj-11 posted: »

That's not a hard decision. 95% of everyone would save Clementine, as would I. And that's regardless of who the other character is, Javier or anyone else.

  • What if she does something horrendous...like eat AJ....I mean she would only do this because they were starving and he was dying...but that could cause you to think...hmmm something not right about that girl.

    Plan_R posted: »

At this point, Javi is still Walker bait in my eyes, so yeah he dies. There is nothing Telltale could ever do to make me kill off Clem willingly.

  • Now hold on there...are you saying that we would not kill Clementine if she turned evil? How morally bankrupt do you take us for? I would definitely save Javier on the second playthru....honest...well maybe third.

A redundant choice. Even if Javier and his family turn out to be saints and it's revealed that Clementine worked with the bad guys all along

Let' em stop playing I'd say then. I have never believed writers should allow themselves to be bullied into going against what they feel in their hearts makes the most logical sense plot wise.

  • Id shoot javier without hesitation

  • I'm not really sure what to say about writers who feel in their hearts the next logical step plot wise after two entries and a cliffhanger is to pick up with somebody completely new and try to turn its fan base against the former protagonist. Because that possibility is what I was addressing in my reply.

Heh, the last time video game writers followed their heart we got the Mass Effect 3 ending(s). xD
