I have the walking dead season 1 & 2 on steam. If I buy new frontier here on telltale instead, will I be able to transer my old saves to new frontier?

Yup, if you launch Season 2 now you can upload your past choice onto Telltale's cloud, then when season 3 comes out all you need to do is sign into your account and youll be able to transfer your save.
Yes...they save in the same file.
