Someone please tell me this...
I have not played the episode(s) yet, but should I even bother? From what I'm hearing its cringy, short and some other reasons I don't even know. Can somebody please tell me and maybe save me the money. I honestly feel terrible for even rethinking about playing twdg because I love it so much, but at this point with all the hate... I was excited until today. Anyways let me know if it's worth the money and if the good parts at least even out with the bad, if there are good parts WITHOUT SPOILERS PLEASE thank you!

Yes, please bother. Seriously
There are a lot of good parts...does it have issues...sure...but the good out weighs the bad by a wide margine.
THIS
In my opinion it isn't as good as season 1, maybe on par with season 2's first few episodes (albeit shorter).
I'm skeptical on the season, i'm hoping it is like season 2, which wasn't the best for the first few episodes but lead up to the last two episodes which i enjoyed.
If you are invested heavily with the story i believe it is worth playing the season, because it is still a continuation (albeit a little bit of a letdown, but not "bad" by any means), but just go in knowing it isn't as amazing as season 1 was.
I haven't played it yet, but I was on the same boat as you just a couple of hours ago :P
In my opinion, you should experience it yourself rather than just watching a playthrough.
That's half the issue with this. It's still living in season 1's shadow. New players would love this and it seems like they do.
Yep. Playing the game yourself is a whole different experience.
why are people calling it cringy?
I see no issue with the writing other than a couple of things...I think right now people are butt hurt over the length...which I get...it is bullshit and I hope TellTale gets their asses chewed big time for outright lying to us. Otherwise you are getting a pretty good story and a body count that may surpass the TV show....Clem has one kill that I found hilarious...but then again I love dark humor.
Shorter than season 2's episodes?!
Oh mercy..
Did they lie about the length? In what way?
(Not challenging you, just haven't been keeping up to date with all their claims)
Totally depends on how you play the game
That doesn't really answer my question about what the lie was like what comment did they make that (can be) untrue?
To my knowledge, all they said was that the premiere was too big for one episode. All the episodes content would indicate that they are telling the truth.
Hmm, if it were the case that the first episode was split into two for the premiere, surely there would be 6 episodes total? But there are I believe only 5 in the menu?
Roughly 1 hour and some change per episode...given that...Episode 1 should be a 2 hour story that is no too big...it is in keeping with S1 and the norm in these type of game...Life Is Strange was over 2 hours for most episodes. I am really hoping that episode 3-5 are longer.
Wooow, 1 hour long for both of them and the devs though combined they would be too long?
Yikes. Where are they getting this feedback that 2 hours is too long?!
Yeah, the length is quite disappointing, to say the least.
However, some of Telltale's best episodes have been on the shorter side (Cry Wolf, Children of Arkham, etc.), so the episodes could still be quite good.
Quality over quantity, right?
Why not both?
Long Road Ahead was long, shocking, complex and satisfying.
Good point, but sometimes you just don't need that much time to tell a story (Or in this case, a chapter of a story).
I'd 100% prefer longer episodes, but if the pacing is good, I'll be satisfied.
There were some unnecessary sections in that episode that could of been cut out for the better.
I think all the sections contributed to the overall dynamics of the group and the story as a whole, while also providing actual gameplay.
I play point and clicks for good puzzles. I play telltale games for great stories and characters. I found it a little harder to enjoy season 1 because the puzzles were so bland in contrast to their earlier games. Episode 3 was fantastic, but it could have used some trimming. That's just me though of course. Sorry just felt like letting that out.
Well there was only one puzzle really, so at most that added 10-15 mins, and that was still interspered with character development and action, so it's still far longer than modern telltale episodes and high quality, even cutting out the puzzle sections! But I respect your opinion
People have been saying that the office janitor was the lead writer for Season Three so they might've gone to him as well.
Well I like the story...but the length is pure grade A fucking Bullshit...TellTalegames need to understand their customers better.
I'm quite worried on the feedbacks I'm hearing. I love the Kenny ending where you can go with him and AJ. Hope they can recover this season as they go throughout with this.
