SPOILERS Javier can be really frustrating...

Ok so I really like the first two episodes of Season 3. The only problem I have so far is that some of the choices that Javier makes (the ones you don't have any control over, obviously) are very frustrating. In episode 1, it was him dropping the gun when the New Frontier people came back. I want to play him as a badass survivor who'll do anything to protect his family and I really wanted him to take these guys out. Now I know Telltale has a story to tell involving them but it just seemed like a cowardly move and I feel like we should have had a say in whether he dropped the gun, even if he doesn't end up killing them.

But that wasn't that big of a deal. What is a big deal is what Javier says to David at the beginning of episode 2. I chose the "Tell Him Off" option, expecting him to shout at his brother and put him in his place. But no, instead he tells him YOU'RE WIFE IS GOING TO LEAVE YOU, SHE JUST TOLD ME HAHA SUCKS TO BE YOU...what?? First of all, Kate hadn't told me that, I don't know if it's different in other playthroughs? Secondly, again this is just a really cowardly, childish thing to do. It just came off really weird to me. I wanted him to tell David off but I didn't want him to say that!! And now, of course it's going to have a massive effect on the next episode I'm sure.

Anyway, rant over. As I said I like the episodes, I even quite like Javier it's just annoying that some of the things Telltale writes make it hard to play out the character's story in our own desired way. I want him to be a survivor, doing whatever it takes to protect his family. But some of the choices I made to create that kind of person actually made him come off as a petty, lying coward. What did everyone else think?
