Both Wolf and Borderlands are unique franchises but Guardians? Tell me what is new or innovative about Guardians. Apart from Borderlands, Telltale didnt even bother to create new main characters but instead they chose movie characters.
Exactly, it wouldn't have to be action oriented if they just build suspense and atmosphere properly. They could move the season along as slowly as they wanted, as long as Clem was involved and the s2 endings truly mattered then I feel more people would have had their expectations fulfilled. Shit, they could have had one s2 flashback per episode and they'd be able to say that s2 mattered. But no.
The Kenny ending for a whole season, climaxing in the flashback that we got, would have been so much more fulfilling.
Same with Wellington. If Clem got to be part of that community for a while, maybe actually have gate duty when the hostile group first appears, and THEN experience the community collapsing, it would have been infinitely better.
Jane's ending could have shown the new Howes community for a while and the family choice could have actually mattered. A bunch of depressing misfortunate shit would happen, climaxing in Jane's suicide. It would have been way less forced than what we got if we actually saw her character break down over a few weeks.
And the alone ending could have just been a lot of really cool and intense situations for Clem and AJ. Maybe Clem runs into Mike and Arvo during that time, since alone enders didn't get any of the other recurring characters.
My point is that there is a lot of squandered opportunity with the s2 endings. I'm just a dedicated fan but I feel like my ideas would be more accepted than what we got and more in line with what players expected.
100%
Kenny teaching Clem how to fish, securing the neighbourhood/area they live in, planting crops and raising AJ would have been amazing… more. It's not an action focused game but to me that's so much more engaging. Maybe there could be a scene where Clem wants to build a treehouse for AJ just like the one she had or a swing or something.
Now I'm depressed as fuck... thanks Telltale.
I remember very well how everyone was whining about playing Clementine when season 2 just came out. People didn't like the idea ov plsying a child st the beginning.
Now they want to play Clementine, and whining about playing Javier.
Just give him a chance and play all 5 episodes.
We will may cry again when season 4 is ready and not playing Javier anymore.
I liked playing as clementine. I actually preferred playing as her and it gives you a unique and different perspective to play from vs typical main characters such as Javier and Lee. BTW people are thinking too far ahead as jobs has stated they have not discussed any future walking dead content.

In S3 however, is there really an end goal, not necessarily for the player, but for the story itself?
In fairness, there isn't reall… morey an overall goal for season 1 outside of 'survive' and 'protect Clementine'.
At least until episode 3 when the stranger's introduced.
Dont wanna argue man but really...no it isnt unique or interesting in any way. I could make franchise based on talking hydrant and gun-crazed ostrich which would be unique but not interesting. You get me?
If they wanted to make game set in space so badly it should have been Star Wars(i think they had wanted to but sadly EA owns copyright)
Look I am not condemning it but you bet that i am not excited at all alongside with many other people
I was here, I just don't think the waiting thread is the best place for more negativity. It just makes a lot of people feel down when otherw… moreise we were hyped to check the thread. I want Telltale to make a great ep3, especially after the flaws this season.
So, in the near 4 months since the release of ANF:
* Brad Kane (the head writer of ANF and the lead writer of Ties That Bind Parts 1 an… mored 2) left Telltale.
* Pierre Shorette (Telltale's Director of Writing, main writer for TWD:S2 and ANF, and creative lead on TFTBL) left Telltale.
* Nick Herman (cinematic artist and director for TWD series, creative lead on TFTBL, and one of Telltale's most senior employees) left Telltale.
* Dennis Lenart (director for TWD:S2 and creative lead on ANF) left Telltale.
* Adam Sarasohn (Executive Producer for TFTBL and TWD: Michonne) left Telltale.
* Kevin Bruner (co-founder and CEO of Telltale from January, 2015 - March, 2017) stepped down and was replaced by former CEO Dan Connors, who had stepped down previously due to company expansion and was replaced by Bruner.
Telltale is a fucking mess right now.
No. I literally never heard any complaints about Clementine until I came here, which I can't say as far as Javier and this games direction goes. She was the reason myself and a lot of other people were interested in the game, and she's why a lot of people are here for ANF. You will may cry again before episode 5 finishes, but the only thing I'm feeling after the first two episodes and episode 3s preview is utter disappointment. I'll likely be done with the series if they continue on with this poorly written and developed character after ANF.

Nonono, you misunderstand. I know why people hate him, but for me? A bit. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd rate a 4 in hatred.
my problem is that I don't remember him killing Mariana. I didn't even think he was such an important character. All I remember him from is the Prescott Gate Break-in, and that's it. So, I'm kind of indifferent to his death.
So is the fact he murdered a child and lied about it not enough for you to at least hold some animosity towards him? I understand he could've been written better but the reason to hate him is all there.
Wellington was mentioned by Christa very early on, it was her and Clems destination and the reason they were in the area they were
But after this scene, some people while playing had already thought she was dead and at the time there were a lot of people on forums who were vocal that Wellington didn't exist and was a pipe dream. At no point did the story ensure us that Wellington was where we were headed beyond Kenny's mention of it in ep2. We just keep walking but it isn't until the final episode that the characters actual start to question where they're walking to.
it was the ultimate destination, with their conflict with Carvers propelling the characters towards the final conflict and decision about Wellington
While I absolutely believe this was supposed to be the case, in practical terms that's not what happened. For people who killed Kenny, none of them made it to Wellington. Even if you left Jane/Kenny and went alone, Clem still didn't go there. The fact that it's an optional destination in my mind doesn't make it the ultimate destination. I could understand failing to reach it, but that's not what happened. Clementine literally made the decision to either head back to Howes or go off in the middle of nowhere (Wellington was covered in snow, the alone ending shows her on a plain field).
I could write a lot more about this stuff (Where were the cabin group headed in episode 2? They talk about getting away from Carver but they didn't know of the existence and Nick/Luke doubt it's existence, Why go to Parkers Run over going back to the lodge? Because it's closer? Is it closer to Wellington? Why was the town our destination in episode 4 but in episode 5 i's completely forgotten about?)
Wellington was mentioned by Christa very early on, it was her and Clems destination and the reason they were in the area they were. Kenny's … moreshowed interest in it too in episode 2 I believe, it was the ultimate destination, with their conflict with Carvers propelling the characters towards the final conflict and decision about Wellington. The entire game started with the journey there and can ultimately end there.
Fun fact. I just finished Mass Effect 2 again, and sat through the credits. I'm gonna take 10 hours off for the 4 dlcs I finished, and that's being generous considering I'm counting the two squadmate dlcs in there. 43 hour playtime. There were two lead writers, and 8 writers for the 43 hours of playtime.

Because its optional doesn't mean it wasn't where the main characters wanted to end up. The choice at the end is strictly up to you as to whether you want to believe Kenny isn't chasing a dream, settle someplace you know exists, or go off on your own.
The cabin group, I imagine, was simply desperate to get away from Carver, so going anywhere that isn't where he knows they are is a viable destination. These guys were paranoid enough that they locked an injured little girl up because she might be spying for Carver. They're scared shitless.
The town I can't comment on, can't remember that far back. I finished episode 3 last week, I'll probably finish 4 tomorrow so I'll have a better idea of what their logic was.

And yet it takes the same amount of writers to write two 1 hour long episodes with very little branching, minimal character development, and rushed resolutions to our S2 endings.

... come on now. They walk for 5 days straight going god knows where, never discussing so much as the direction they should go (or if they do, we never hear/see it). They get caught in the end regardless so where they were going was clearly not the way to go anyway. I get being terrified and wanting to get as far as possible but not even Clementine suggests Wellington as a possible destination. Bad writing, plain and simple.

If you look through the thing at the observation deck, Clem will notice the town across the river. Later on, you can check the map near the statue and see the town with the church icon. Bonnie mentions they should go to the town and later after Rebecca's birth, Kenny suggests going to the town. They then follow a Russian who just jumped you and your group getting them shot and hurt because he has 'supplies' (He could be lying to save himself, which is extremely likely and it's not like there couldn't be a bunch of his other Russian pals lying in wait ready to kill you as soon as they see you putting a gun to his back across the river...) Should they have carefully mapped out a plan at the cabin? Considering how closely behind them Carver was following after leaving because Carver had found them, they probably made the right call getting out of there as fast as they could and figuring things out as they go. That's not bad writing. Not warning Kenny's group after seeing the lights in the forest was. There's a weak argument that they were afraid of being turned away from shelter, but regardless they should have known what Carver was capable of and prepared.
Where else were they going to go with a newborn baby and recovering mother? They got everything they could where they were, there's a town, they're going to need more supplies and its too cold to stay in a busted up store. Arvos friends get killed, and either he's got supplies, he's got more friends who, for some reason, wouldn't let his sick sister stay with them, or they kill him now and take as much of a chance on the town. Because they can't let him go if he does have friends, he'll only bring them back our searching. There's plenty of logic in the decision, if you're deducing the situation.

I love Javi but I wanted Kenny.
A talking tree and a gun-crazed raccoon (among other people) going around fighting people in outer space isn't unique???

Would you rather have ANF have better graphics or run in 60 FPS?

Well there WAS a goal for season 1, the overall goal was to get a boat to leave for a safer place.
Personally, not at all, I wish their games ran smoother and with less bugs. But I don't really care about graphics or frame rate.
THIS
I sure uh hope we get to see more of a certain someone in the upcoming episode!
They better not kill that smile.

I think she herself will survive. Her smile on the other hand...
I should work on being a bit more positive about it I'm just not wanting to get disappointed.
Totally. Better not be a measly 4 minutes. I know someone else who agrees...
We'll see more of her although playing as her is a different story
That's...worrisome..maybe 2017 is the end of telltale 8 (
me if Clem playtime stays at around 3 to 5 minutes per episode.
This gif is so appropriate it's not even funny.
...Okay, it's actually pretty funny.
