(SPOILER ALERT) Why did you have to do this. Telltale?

Ok, so I have finished both episode 1 and 2 of TWD TNF and it blew my mind. The ending of episode 2, I must admit, it was a great cliff hanger, but a total clique. I mean, really? What were the chances of David being the leader of The new frontier? And in Episode 1, why did you have to kill Mari? A kid? Like she was great in the story, and she totally wasn't gonna be like Sarah. I really had high hopes for her. Come on, Telltale! And let's not talk about the reuse of models in the same scene... For example, in episode 2 when TNF attacked Prescott and the tear gas bombs were thrown, I saved a guy from a walker, and then the same guy dies eaten by the same walker later, and then like nothing happens we see the same guy being beaten by a member of TNF and then ambushed by warkers. And the blonde girl in the Welinghton flashback that got shot by the black dude that killed the girl that was running with Clem was in Prescott too and killed again later :/ Oh, and in episode 2 where Clem left after she killed Conard and when you find Kate in the car, you can see Clem behind Javi and then she disappears after he turns back.

  • It was a cliche but so was Clementine seeing Kenny again in season 2.

  • And in Episode 1, why did you have to kill Mari? A kid? Like she was great in the story, and she totally wasn't gonna be like Sarah. I really had high hopes for her. Come on, Telltale!

This is so infuriating. I want to see the writer who decided to do this try to justify building up a character just to kill her off for a cheap emotional response.

The only emotional response Mari's death got from me was anger and it added onto the pile of things in this game that ended in a refund request to steam.

Telltale can't write a decent character death any more. Telltale can't write a decent fucking game any more.

  • No one is safe in this universe, not even children. Hell, Kirkman even killed a baby while in her mothers hands. That's why Telltale did that. Now David? That was just a plot twist.

  • Am I the only one who didn't consider killing Mariana as bad writing?

  • I would've preferred gabe. Another Ben situation for me. Then again, Mariana does not get boners, Gabe does.

    It's time for fanfiction!

(Actually, I have this cool idea for a story of Javi's family between the begining of the outbreak and the S3. I wish I could write it, but I don't have the time or will force D:)

  • The emotion response I got was anger as well. Where we differ is I got angery at the new frontier for killing her.
A testament to telltales writing that had me caring about I character I've known for 1 hour.

  • And once again ttg didn't learn from their mistakes.

Nope, you're not the only one. Had no one cared about her death it would have been bad writing. Telltale wanted us to feel hurt about her death and they achieved exactly that.

  • Trust me. I know what direction TellTale are going by killing off Mariana. David's men killed his own daughter and when David finds out there will be another plot twist.

The people you want to blame are the ones who made you care about a fictional character, someone that THEY created in the first place. So if you feel mad, that's exactly what they wanted you to feel. They have achieved their goal. They have successfully showed that during an apocalypse no one is safe and no one has to justify somebody's death, especially a bunch of f*cking bandits.

You were fooled into thinking that the writers were responsible for their character's death. You are angry, but your sentiment is a testament to their excellent writing. If you can't rationalize what you've seen and ask for a refund it's not a telltale's problem, but yours, since you're being so susceptible and too emotionally attached to a (minor) fictional character.
