Walking dead season 3 : Future of Clementine ?

Before i start, I have to say this: I love Clementine and she's my favorite video game character, but i was thinking about TWD for past 2 days nonstop and i think that....

Clementine will probably die at the end of the season.
Let's be realistic, at the end of every season, somebody dies ok ?
Clementine is ''alive'' for 3 seasons (that's a long time), and with Javi you got with her that ''positive'' connection, which leads in telltale games to ? Yeah, dead. Kenny,Luke,Lee and more...
The end can probably end with Javier taking the AJ. Or maybe at the end you choose between Clem and AJ ? I don't know. But i am like 95% sure that Clem will die.
And if that happens, i will cry like a year nonstop and i will be heartbroken for rest of my life. Thanks for reading this theory

  • Im sort of interested where this new arc with the frontier takes her. Im glad they at least involved her in the plot this season rather than just have her be javi's partner and make season 1 molly comments. Im assuming clem lives, I think your underestimating how many people just play the game for clementine outside of these forums.

Oh God I'm terrified they might do that since we only played as Clem in total for about 8-10 minutes... And in flashbacks.

They might be trying to forge a connection between us and Javier via Clem, before committing the unthinkable.

However, without Clementine, there's simply no TellTaleGames' The Walking Dead. It's like The Walking Dead TV show without Rick. Remove the keystone, it falls.

Though I'm sure they'll put Clementine through even more shit...

  • Yeah, I know.
If they killed Clementine, they would probably kill the whole The Walking Dead game.
Just look how well did the Michone series, not many people liked it, maybe because of the last decision

  • Well this might be the final Telltale Walking Dead game. As you said "Without Clementine, there's simply no TellTaleGames' The Walking Dead."

    Oh God.
Thanks for depressing me even more... (It's not you though, just your reminder)

I hope not. There are still so many loose ends they could gently tie up, not in the rough and ready way they already did for some other things (Such as the 400 Days characters being seen for just 2 secs...)

They still have a vast blank canvas on which to paint.

  • Well I have been looking for ways to save a bit of money. If TTG kills her off, ill save money by not ever buying any of their products anymore.

  • My biggest fear is that they are going to kill off Clem. She's no longer the main character or the focus which means that there is a possibility of her dying as we can see previously all the supporting characters have perished.
I just hope that thats not going to happen and she'll survive as the thought of it is killing me these past few days.

  • I feel like adding Clem was a mistake in this game. Maybe Javier should have been a mini DLC or Clementine a mini DLC? and the other character should be the main character in Season 3.

Both Javi and Clem are one of my favourite characters. Nothing against either of them. Clem is also "controlling" other players, as I can read on the forum. "I will do anything that benefits Clementine instead of playing from Javier's perspective and stand behind his family" I sometimes also am favouring Clem. Not that I think she did anything wrong so far. Maybe Clem is an overpowered person in being a good tip-giver. I don't know man xD

Wonder where AJ story also will go. He will be the main character in S4? Will he die (which is disturbing to think about) ?

  • Don't worry, they said if people keep playing it, tgryll keep making it. We will have at least one more season and Clem, I believe, will survive.

Well this might be the final Telltale Walking Dead game. As you said "Without Clementine, there's simply no TellTaleGames' The Walking Dead."

  • I don't think they'll kill her off this season, although it all depends on the sales anyway. I get the feeling they're setting it all up for AJ to become the new 'Clem' for season 4 and we'll get to play as him (if he's even still alive xD). Clementine would take the role as 'Lee' and teach AJ how to survive. Maybe this way TT has a chance to capture back some of that continuity from previous seasons.

  • I do have a fear that Telltale are trying to get rid of everything that happened in S1 & S2. It seems Clementine is the last tie to that. If only so it can be easier to make a story that will appeal to new players. This is just the cynical side of me talking though.

  • I think that Clementine's death will be determinant depending on what decisions you make in game.

decisions you make in game? yeah sure...
if the writers want to cut out clem she is out

  • Ey, I was just stating my opinion.

I feel like their probably setting up for her death. And im so tired of people saying oh if clementine dies the walking dead dies no it doesn't Clementine's fans dont speak for the entire fan base so if she did die I wouldn't have much of a problem with it. I mean when lee died I kept playing so im sure as hell gonna keep playing when clementine's dead.

Die in season 3 if Clementine does...a great empty void within the narrative, Telltale will have...

  • The death of Lee was a shock. The death of Kenny was not, but it was still painful (I left him behind in season 2, after he killed Jane. That scene was heartbreaking.). Killing Clem would not seem right. We would lose our favourite character to a tedious trope.

Something bad will happen, though. Best not to think to much about it.

  • If Clem dies, I welcome it.

  • Well, on the bright side this is the only episodic series I play, if she does die I wouldn't have to worry about waiting for the next episode/season again lol

  • Well she's at least going to be around till episode 4 but it doesn't really matter. From my understanding telltale is done with the walking dead (rightfully so) after ANF so whether clementine dies or not doesn't mean much in my opinion since this is the final product of TWD
