Well, the episodes seem shorter lol. I'm warming up to Javier, but my priorities feel so disconnected from his. I know Javiers supposed to be protecting and caring for his family, but they're gonna come second for me because I'm making the choices and I know Clem, and I've been waiting to get back to her story. Lee starts pretty much alone, finds Clem and meets a new group. But all the relationships are built over the course of the season. Apart from Kenny, the same applies for S2. Clem starts with Christa, but I already knew Christa so that relationship was a bit more personal. But in both of the original seasons episode 1 and 2 give you time with the main group to get to know them before a major conflict arises. There's conflict within, but its really more about conflicting personalities.
This season feels a bit too fast paced, Clem is still an enigma, the episodes are short, and there hasn't been as much time as I'd like with the characters. Episode 2 was shorter than 1, and almost immediately puts you into a siege then sends you on the run for the rest of the episode, with the only downtime being when you use the tow truck, and each character has a quick conversation. Javier teases Gabe, Clem thinks everything ends bad, Conrad's not ok, and Tripps a trip lol. Considering we needed to be introduced to everyone, episode 1 did that well, the length is hurting the characters for me though.
Honestly, the season is actually enjoyable and it seems to be going the route a lot of TTG go where it starts strong. Then it meanders a whole lot and the quality just then dips. Seems a lot more accelerated with TWD S3 as you are pretty much told from the get go that whatever choice you made in the past two seasons don't matter.
You guys can't correct me but I thought TTG said that how we played Clem in the past two seasons would shape who she is now. From what I can see there is no real deviation who she is coming out of S3 and they pretty much have her a set way.
A big thing is the big focus on Javi with the more important story being Clem overall. I mean Clem's story is the more interesting compelling story and having it thrown to the background doesn't leave me in high hopes. I like to think that we will be able to play as Clem and explore more of her mindset in the next episode. Though, it seems like episode 3 will be heavily on Javi's relationship with his brother. I just think having a complete focus on Javi is a mistake and they should have went the Tales route and had both playable....and not just for three minutes.
The big issue isn't that TTG makes linear games. A lot of the best games are linear. It's that they say it's supposed to be nonlinear when it's not. No game is outside of sandbox games like the Civ series or the Sims.
How they did Kenny/Jane was dirty.

Yeah I am sunshine. Glad you noticed! And did I say I want Clem to walk around talking to herself? Nope. I said I wouldn't have mind playing as her as a lone wolf. Kinda like Jesus. He is a drifter, he has a place to lay his head, but he likes to also be alone when he can. I see Clem like that now. And for me, it would be leaps and bounds better than being forced to play as Javier. Someone who is a shallow uninteresting twat. That walker with no lower jaw who came after their van when teh walkers reached the fire. I'd rather play as it for 5 episodes.
I'm glad that you like him! I just don't. Maybe if they actually spent more time on developing him, making him likeable. Instead they just thrust him upon you and expect you to fall head over heals for him. And Kate just comes off as desperate, needing any males approval of her. And I had thought Jane was bad. lol
Then maybe you should give them more time to develop him. Might TellTale not bother? Yeah, but people shouldn't judge characters that are right out of the box.

See, you're just being uncrompromising. Last i checked, lone wolves spend a lot of time by themselves and in the type of video games TellTale makes being a "lone wolf" won't work and it shouldn't. Who do you suggest Clementine talk to while being this lone wolf? The air? Walkers? A baby that can't talk? Get out of here with that. You might think you're clever with your sarcasm but I've already forgotten about this conversation.

Yeah dude, it's just these forums are full of a vocal minority.

This is the second advert I've seen where there's almost nothing but praise.
No worries, getting use to how this posing and replying this works. Haven't posted much since early 2015(?) Or am I not allowed for a mix up now and again?
Then TT should have developed him properly. And also been upfront with who is actually the main character in this new game. But instead they weren't, unless in future episodes we get to actually switch between him and Clem, then TT lied to us. Don't tell me that I will be able to play my favorite character then force this no body on me and expect me to like him.
Then maybe you should give them more time to develop him. Might TellTale not bother? Yeah, but people shouldn't judge characters that are right out of the box.
I love people who try to make assumptions about others. I wasn't be sarcastic. But I guess you can use the excuse "It's the internet I can't tell how you sound when you type." But to answer your question, if they truly are competent writers then when she is alone they could make it work. I mean, it is what they are getting paid to do. And I'm not being uncompromising. If they had given us a character that we could actually care about, then I wouldn't have a problem playing them and not Clem. But instead they just thrust him and his family upon us and expect it to work for everyone.
If TT wanted to start a new story in the Walking Deadverse, that is 100% cool. But they could have done it with a character that we have already come to know. Someone that isn't a stranger. (forgive me because I'm about to repeat myself). Had it been Krista or Lily, I would have been up to playing them. Find out just what happened when Lily was left on the side of the road. Or what happened to Krista in the woods, and did her baby die natural, or was it eaten by walkers? Their stories, their character development would have made more sense then Javier.

lol, people would have flipped out if Clem was not in. I admit I want her story continued as well and so far I think Season 3 is doing a good job. I'm happy.
Did you all seriously want another season of Clem running around, meeting a group, having them all die and then she ends up alone for a thir… mored time?
If I recall correctly, most criticized season 2 for having this narrative and it being much weaker in general.
I can understand why some people are mad about the season 2 endings in this season, but I don't really mind it because we all knew that they wouldn't spend an entire episode following up with season two, especially when they are trying to tell someone else's story.
That was a major issue with season 2. Kenny took most of the story away from the cabin group as people were more invested in Kenny as he had a large role in the previous season.
And I've seen people get mad about Clem being "shoehorned" into the season; but tell me, how many of you would freak out if Clem wasn't in the season?
I think we all know the answer to that
Overall I think it's… [view original content]
I agree as well. Season 2 dropped fast after episode 2 and went to shit. They messed up with Carver imo. He could have been a really interesting character but simply turned him into a madman. They also ruined the dynamic that was playing out with Kenny and Luke in episode 2 and instead introduced Jane which ruined Season 2. When Jane left the group the first time, they should have let her stay gone for at least the rest of Season 2. The ending should have been Luke and Kenny.
One thing I don' like is that most of the soundtrack is basically reused score from season 2 and a few from season 1. Kate's theme is definitively my favorite and there's 3 versions of it, awesome.
and thats the point its a new story it doesnt fit as a season 3 it fits as a spin off or a reboot
or a cross over story in general it has no tie really to be a season 3 to be a season 3
it must have a continuation from what happened in season 1 and 2 also clementine
should have been the main character again even though they have clem in the story
it really doesn't make this a season 3

I really don't understand all the ranting. I really don't. Is it that much different from season two other than Clem not being the protag?

A significant portion of the vocal minority on this site don't care for season three. I'm not one of the people in that crowd.

I think Episode 1 and 2 should have been combined into one long great episode

Nope, not 100 times. Only said it twice. But thanks for keeping count!

They've put out quite a few adverts since the 20th though, the rage seemed to get a bit worse throughout the day lol

I liked season 3
Honestly, I think a lot of people are salty because they can't play as Clementine.
I find Season 3 already better because less people die. Here is who died:
Season 2 Episode 1/2: We lose Omid, Christa, Pete, Matthew, Walter, Nick (Determinant) and Alvin (Determinant).
Season 3 Episode 1/2: We lose Kenny/Jane, Mariana, Francine and Conrad (Determinat)
