Your bro, Tripp
Let's all admit guys. Tripp is awesome and the nicest guy out of everyone we've met so far. Let's list the reasons why he's awesome.
- He lets you into Prescott
- He gives you ride to help find your family even if you got locked up with Clem
- He helps you save Kate and Gabe from the New Frontier in junkyard
- He tells you that you and your family are welcome in Prescott
- He defands you againist Conrad
- He trusts your judgement and choices
- He doesn't even question why Conrad dies, showing that he thinks it wouldn't be your fault
What a badass, am I right?
All hail Tripp, your brother from another mother who's better than you're own brother.

The new Loaderbot.
His beard is badass.
Dead man walking.
Sorry bloop...you know I am right.
I think he's my favorite new character lol dude is so chill and welcoming.
When you look past all of the general criticisms for this season, you become aware that the secondary characters in this season so far are actually better writen and better voice acting than the characters from Season 2.
They certainly have a lot more about them. Plus, it actually matters to the other characters when they die or they are injured. Makes us care through empathy.
Not sure I agree about the voice acting, I don't recall any horrible voice acting in season 2 really, but Tripp is my man. Hoping he doesn't just f'ing die first thing next episode.
I didn't think the voice acting in season 2 was horrible. I just thought at times that it didn't really hit the mark.
He's a stand up guy, also he's rocking that beard game.
We need more of this character. There could have been so many chances to get to know this guy. Luckily we still have 3 more episodes. Good VA. Badass. He's seems like a good guy. But I don't know enough about him to truly care. I do have this fear that he'll become a detriment choice between him and Eleanor. Since she is his female counter part and the game had a similar choice in ep.1, just a feeling though.
I dunno if I'd call Tripp secondary, though.
I'd say, behind Javier and his family (and Clementine, obviously), he's the most important character thus far. Eleanor and Conrad fit the bill of secondary characters more than Tripp does.
He's big. He's all-you-can-eat buffet for zombies.
Definitely my favorite new character so far.
Also, you forgot to mention how he has some great lines. I appreciate a character that can actually make me laugh, and Tripp managed to do so multiple times.
He's one of the better characters in this season, for definite.
...And I'm hoping that the next episode doesn't kill him off or go off the rails as Conrad did in Episode 2.
Where's the love for Max? The most level headed, fair, beanie wearing bandit you'll ever meet
Sure hope he doesnt fly out a windshield.
Love him but my god is he's huge kinda looks like a gears of war character lol
I can't be the only one who finds him a bit unbelievable, right?
I mean my Javier promised to not cause trouble and then got thrown into the cell with Clem. He then offered to give me a ride in the morning, and I ended up disobeying his authority and sneaking out with Eleanor while also endangering her. Then I open fired on the hostage situation, got Prescott destroyed, and killed his friend but he doesn't so much as bat an eye or question me.
Javier keeps saying stuff like, "Tripp, you trust me right??!" and Tripp obeys without question, despite the fact that they've known each other for a day and he should probably not be so trusting of my Javier thus far. I don't know, I hope there is more to this guy than blind obedience.
Any particular example? I'm not challenging your opinion, just curious
Yeah, this is a problem with the pacing of season 3. You really barely talk to Trip, or spend any time with him. But the narrative thrusts you all along a path without time to catch your breath and Tripp (actually, seemingly everyone not NF) is more than happy to completely trust you and place their lives in your hands.
Tripp is an og real nigguh, for someone reason he reminds me of a Borderlands protagonist.
Tripp is already the best character in my view.
pleasedon'tdiepleasedon'tdie
New Jesus. Fuck Kenny. And actual Jesus. Tripp is the only Jesus.
Jesus is actual Tripp his most loyal follower
Never mind my previous opinion. I just changed my mind. Most of the voice acting did hit the mark. I didn't play season 2 for a while. At first I had thought that Carlos at times sounded like he was bored. It wasn't until I observed Kid Beyond's voice acting in the second season on YouTube that I realized it was just part of his character. He's just reserved. Sometimes when we critique voice acting, we need to distinguish the difference between a character of being reserved and emotionless. That failure of seeing that difference had led to the unnecessary criticism that Clem's voice acting in season 2 was "dull" because she was "emotionless". Which is far from the truth because she had cried in season 2. Clem might not have shown alot of emotion when she was talking to different characters throughout the season but that is different from having no emotion at all. So in conclusion I abstain from my previous opinion on some of the voice acting in season 2.
Trip just seems like a really cool, genuine dude. I think he's great!
Tripp is cool and Eleanor is nice too. Infact these two are so good that we may aswell prepare ourself for
[Save Tripp] [Save Eleanor]
Just me. Or anyone else think its painfully obvious that we will get this choice.
Amen.
Tripp as a child:
Ah, alright
yeah yeah, I hope him and Javi are gonna be good friends.
Hell yes he is rock in it.
Sorta need it after Kenny provided the appetizers!
Too soon?
Go to 21:15
I think we will get this choice too, I will probably choose to save Tripp at this current point.
