My Review of A New Frontier Episodes 1 and 2
Below is a summary of my review. You can read the full review at: http://www.keengamer.com/article/15283_twd-a-new-frontier-episodes-1-and-2-review-ps4
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is a solid new addition to Telltale's new game series featuring new interesting characters, a changed world and improved gameplay. The engine has also been improved with better graphics, lighting and all round performance. Telltale are known for immersive narratives and A New Frontier is no exception with well-designed plot twists and characters and interesting antagonists.
However, there are some problems with the game, such as how Telltale handled your Season 2 ending with a 3 minute poorly written flashback. Also, most of your choices don't seem to affect the story other than a couple of dialogue changes.
PROS:
- Clementine
- Improved graphics and performance
- Well-designed narrative
- Fun gameplay
- Interesting, unique characters
- Good plot twists
CONS:
- Season 2 endings are handled in a 3 minute poorly written flashback
- Most of your choices don't affect the story other than a couple lines of dialogue
- Game crashes a couple of times during playthrough
- Small freezes and lag in combat quick time events

What's unique about the characters though? They are all based on one common cliché or other.
Not saying they are badly written, but I see a lot of people saying they are unique without explaining what makes them so.
Also, what good plot twists were there?
Very good point. By unique I mean that they all have different personalities. I wrote in the full review that most of the group are clique but Telltale have still given them unique personalities to each other and they react to situations in different ways.
Also Nikolaj, I made the review not contain any major story spoilers so I havn't actually written the plot twists in the review because that would spoil the game.
Im sorry TWDazehnuu but I don't understand what you mean. Being unique is when a character has a different personality to other characters. Most of the characters in A New Frontier have different personalities (e.g. Gabe wants to help but ends up failing most of the time. Tripp likes to act hard but when he is in a lot of danger, he breaks down, not knowing what to do. Comrad gets angry fast and will do anything to get his own way). So as you can see from my examples, all the characters have different personalities which makes them unique from each other.
There is a checkbox for spoilers just above the cancel button.
Anyway, I see what you mean with the characters now. Good.
Um. Yeah...um... no...
The performance of the game still has models having seizures in the background just like in the last 3 years, the dialouge choices are cringy (example; Clem holds Javier hostage and when she sets him free and meet up new people Javi can say: "Clem's my friend." hoo boi this is the 1st 20min of the game too), and the (only) gameplay's QTE which remain the same, I was expecting like that one game where you fight off zombies by using every letter on your keyboard, something creative and interesting and unexpected, but nah.
The only props I would give them was how they design the credits/end choices that's it, but the menu seems a bit rushed as well.
If you read the full review, I go into all of that
You did mention freeze at QTE's here... are you talking about that full review link I completely missed? Now I feel stupid.
