  • Yeah when they didn't just accept the gas and let Javi walk I knew they were gonna be bad news

I only like Ava so far. Max is not as bad as Badger, but there was no reason to cry about some gas (that Javier gave back anyway) and a few cups of pudding. Like, seriously. That was not a big deal, even after a zombie-apocalypse.

  • Spoilers :d

Fml. Not caught up. Just looked ahead. Allow me to remove my foot from mouth.

  • Define "good" Davids a hot headed idiot. He has the same type of rage in him that made Carver push Reggie off a roof. It would not take much for David and Clem to butt heads. Especially if David is the reason Aj's not with Clem. If that's true, I'm not looking forward to end game choices. AJ is someone Clem would kill for. Just like she did for Lee in S1. And that may leave us as Javi, pointing a gun at Clem with no damned options. At which point I turn off this game and cry. Because the game Series that rekindled my love of games will have killed my love for them.

I'm sure there are good members but unfortunately Javier seem to conveniently attract the bad ones who invalidate whatever choice we make so I guess that won't matter but the good thing is this is not another Carver situation. David is the protagonist's brother, it's much more personal.

  • Javier doesn't know it was specifically Badger who killed Mariana.

I don't think they're all bad, but obviously they aren't all good either. I'm curious to see how David reacts when I tell him Badger killed his Mariana.

Agree. I think they might have actually heard the criticisms the community had over Carver. Max is very human, Badger is the one who is bad. I really hope in ep3 that Badger is put down for that stunt he pulled on Prescott and killing Mari.

No way would David believe that punk Badger over his own son/family.

One thing I love about season three is how Max is written. He has consistently felt very human to me. I wouldn't be surprised if the New Frontier are nowhere near as bad as Badger and the problem Clem has is more about something Clem did.

Oi they brand their peeps. they are fuckin bad guys now. Scratch all what i posted just figured why they do that. Still batty tho

Well it doesn't seem like they are bad people with the exception of Badger. Lonnie,Ava,and Max all seem to be pretty reasonable and nice peo

  • All I know is I'll need to have a word with Mr. D after I infiltrate the New Richmond. Then I'll kill all those branded fucks.

  • Well they did attack Prescott mercilessly. The random people part of the New Frontier followed Badger without question except for the one guy. They also brand their people, which is pretty messed up and Clementine says their bad. Now their could be reasons to all this and Clem has lied to us in the past, so who knows, yet. One thing is that Javier's brother seems like a pretty aggressive dude and could be trouble for us. They could be decent people, but until I see evidence otherwise I doubt it.

  • He said something like "We're not gonna let someone roll over us like last time."

Yeah when they didn't just accept the gas and let Javi walk I knew they were gonna be bad news

  • I thought it was quite obvious that David acted like a bad guy in the making. He acts like a stereotypical bully and there's interesting foreshadowing in Javier's dialogue about his worldview.

  • And....?

They still shouldn't have started shit if you tried giving the gasoline back, regardless of some separate incident that did not involve Javi at all.. The way Max responds make me think that they steal and plunder quite frequently based on their own concept of "justice".

He said something like "We're not gonna let someone roll over us like last time."

  • They'll all be dead by the end of Episode 5

  • I'm sure they believe them taking over Richmond is "justice".

  • Ah yeah, I remember the black guy who has dreadlocks hair, right? I remember he's at the front gate of Richmond as well. Maybe ANF did take over Wellington. :(

The model of the man who killed Edith in the Wellington outcome was used to portray two different members of the New Frontier as well, but t

  • I think they are the reason AJ is gone, maybe that's why Clem left.

  • Since the new episode is about to come out and we have a bit of background on the new frontier has anyone's opinion changed?

  • Not really. It was pretty obvious from Part 1 alone that the New Frontier were lawful thugs doing as their leaders direct them to.
Badger was definitely the worst we've seen since the beginning, as he not only dislike the laws but took joy in the destruction and antipathy he wrought.
Joan is significantly lower in evil, as her conduct outside of her backdoor operations implies that she genuinely wants to protect Richmond at all costs. However, the fact that she's willing to destroy other settlements to accomplish that shows that she prioritizes achieve that goal before all else.
Rufus and especially Lonnie seem to just do their jobs but do show signs of being willing to act outside of their obedient mindset if they feel like it.
Max is definitely a rational and compromising man but his thuggish exterior and kowtowing to authority means he'll engage in sketchy stuff if convinced its in the best interests of the New Frontier.
Not sure where Clint and Lingard fall in this, as they both seem to be just as strict/personable if not more, though they're decision to back down shows they'll tolerate her actions out of understanding of where she's coming from.
And David and Ava are obviously a duo unto themselves.

  • My original thought was Ava was David's new "girlfriend"
