What can motivate TTG to make a game like season 1 again?

Not even talking about Irrelevant choices . 60 minutes episode is just unacceptable. Why cant u make 110-130 minutes episode like before? Why cant u make determinants like carley/doug anymore? Why cant u make hubs with interesting questions like before? Why is "xyz will remember this" is becoming a joke? It mattered alot in previous games.

It's not going to happen and Telltale isn't the first one to do this. From the top of my head I can think of Bioware and Dragon Age. Bioware tried so hard to attract new players with Inquisition, their third game, that they totally forgot what made Dragon Age great in the first place. Some people loved it, some people hated it. Just like with ANF. But games will never be what they used to be because companies nowadays get too greedy and in the end they will create these games with a mindset of "how can we make the most money from this with minimal effort?" instead of "what worked in the past and how can we make it better?" or even "what did our loyal players love the most about our games and what would they like to see?". That's just the reality of the game industry.

p.s. I'd like to add that while I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, I hated Inquisition. But I actually like ANF so far. But I do agree with your points. I wish the episodes were longer and there were more hubs where we could ask these characters questions and truly get to know them better. That's a big disappointment in this season for me so far.

Far as I can Season 3 is coming along really well in terms of story and gameplay, with exception of the Kenny/Jane flashbacks and the lack of playable time as Clementine. I need to play/watch another future episode to get a better feel of what the episode lengths are, since playing with Sialark, we didn't notice, but that's probably because we played two episodes in one sitting, and we did discuss things. Perhaps one reason we didn't notice is because the plot actually feels like it knows what it's doing and nearly all the characters are having development rather than them and the story focusing on a sole objective like Season 2 which spent little time with the cast.

The hubs were pretty good, I liked them, I really liked the ones in the junkyard, the bar and the street in Episode 2 with the explorations and interactions they had in them. also the 'will remember this' notifications actually feel like they have a little more meaning rather than being screen spam; Clementine's ones bring up different reactions from her, depending on how you treat her or if you back her up and betray her [and I get the sense Gabe's might play into something later with Javi and David] I also remember a guy at the beginning calling Javi out if he previously said he was alone only to mention 'we were hungry'.

Aside from that, there's different variations for the endings of the episodes like who goes with you to the junkyard or if you stay or leave with your family, to if Clementine is with you at the end of episode 2 and how you deal with the situation at the gate. Not to mention the animation has really stepped up and much more smoother, and the graphics look amazing [not all the time like the models for Jane/Kenny] but fucking god this game is actually looking stunning.

About 8/10 of the time, they've done a damn good job, and I'm proud of them for that 8, even if the 2 bit needs work. There'll never be a Season 1 again like there won't be a Season 2, just like Capcom will never capture the golden days of the original Resident Evils and gameplay mechanics. Yes I'm concerned about the episode lengths myself and it it'll effect the plot, but it's important to point out the improvements they have made because you can tell Telltale worked their ass off on this game.
