Where did Telltale state this

I've been told that Telltale has acknowledged that people don't like how Clem's personality as no changes, and that her personality type will matter more in the future?

I would say Clementine's personality changed. In S1 she doesn't like that the group takes the food from the car at the end of Starved for Help. She also disapproves of Lee's swearing. She also can have the option, I think it's in the S2 flashback, to tell Lee that she's scared of killing someone. In S2 we see her begin to get over those things and by S3 she's not the innocent girl we meet in the treehouse who's afraid of walkers. She can hold her own and isn't afraid to stand up for herself when she's been wronged--as seen in S3 when she confronts the arms dealer in Prescott. Given the way she holds Javi up when they first meet and tells him she wants his car in exchange for help, that's also the opposite of how her character was in S1. Her personality has changed a lot, but we can still see glimpses of the old Clementine every now and again.

It sounds more of a statement rather than a promise. The thread was pretty much just fans complaining about the choices like we do here, and a staff member kept reassuring that, admittedly, our choices didn't heavily effect episode 1 and 2 but they will later on. They also specifically stated that Clementine won't outright say she watched a man get his face beat in but watching it or not will effect her so well start to see our Clementine.

Telltale says a lot of things though. This sounds more like a want than a will. Seeing their GlassDoor reviews they probably wont have time to put it in since they're going DOWN to 1 month waits, when 2 month gaps weren't even enough for the employees, they've already had a delay, and it's Christmas break. They're also not good at time management. See for yourself:

We have no process, no one understands how to schedule anything (or keep to it, or adapt it if we really need to, without forcing your employees to work ridiculous amounts of overtime) and task tracking is a joke. Everything is rushed and last minute. It's inexcusable. I've worked at other game companies in the past and nowhere has it been as bad as it is here.

Tight deadlines. It feels like an outsourcing house: where art is produced quickly and there is no time to stop and reflect on the quality or direction

Telltale is company where there is never enough time or resources to deliver quality content on all fronts. Sacrifices and corners are cut at almost every stage of development resulting in an inferior product compared to most any other major releases.

These were back in July before the guaranteed 1 month wait. I just don't think they have enough time to really fix the flaws. Trust me, I hope they prove me wrong though.

  • They said that the S2 Endings will play a major role this S3, and well we saw how much that mattered, sooooo.

  • I think that it's just better to accept that your choices don't really matter all that much. Play TWD for the story and the characters, but let go of the idea that "your choices affect the story... the game is tailored by how you play yada yada" or you'll be in for disappointment.

  • Interesting. Where is this from?

  • You'll see in future episodes, first one was already too big to fit any of that :no_mouth:

  • Well, I kinda understand their struggle. This game got so popular and with time it got so branched out that it was extremely hard to make it valuable, plot rich and choice-meaning game.

But then again, I don't understand how flat and meaningless S2 endings turned out to be. They had so much potential, and it's not like Telltale didn't have time or boost to keep up with our expectations.

I feel like The Walking Dead has lost its aura which made me replay this game over and over again.

    But I'll wait.
