Is Clem Afro-Asian( black and asian)?
I heard a rumor somewhere that Melissa Hutchinson said that Clem is black and asian. Where and when did she say that? If true, are Ed and Diana really Clem's mom and dad or perhaps her mom is mixed race.

She's blasian. (no, I'm not joking)
Yes, it's true she said it in an interview, I would suggest listening to the whole thing because there is a lot of important information about Season 3.

Ok that was just Melissa's guess. I would say she is of mixed heritage...I looked up Blasian in the ole Google and came up with pictures of various actresses and (gasp) normal people who are Blasian. First off....very beautiful people. Any number of the ones I saw could play Clem in a live action version of the game.
It is officially unknown until such a day that Telltale officially puts out a news release saying one way or the other. Her skin tone has changed at times in the series.
Now if I was too judge by looks and lord knows that is always tricky..I believe she is a combo of African and Japanese.
Consider her cheek bones and chin African, the sharp cut to her jawline...more Japanese...and the nose...the eyes are more Asian. Height can be a misleading indicator, not every Asian is short...nor is every African tall. Skin tone is more light caramel, but that too is not a good indicator as it fluctuates in the series.
Soooo probably Blasian...but then again they artists could just have picked and chose features that people would find pleasing and Telltale probably has no intention of saying one way or the other.
So whatever floats your boat.
I look at her and I don't see African American. Sorry.
The looks don't qualify the heritage.
I thought it was obvious she is black. Just that she is a lighter black compared to Lee. I also think TellTale confirmed that she is when Season 1 was coming out or finished. Why would most confuse her for being Lee's daughter if she wasn't black?
She's not actually mixed but the reason she looks mixed is because the guy who designed her was asian and based her off of his daughter. And this is from an interview with another staff member.

Double post.
my guess exactly
See I am going to with hold judgement because ultimately it is Telltale's call...but I think we can all agree on one simple fact...Clementine is a sweetheart no matter what heritage.
Pardon me?
I know, right? Why is this still even a thing? We were told she is black. Does she have some Asian blood? Maybe. So what?
I look at her and I don't see African American. Sorry.
The looks don't qualify the heritage.
Well the recent flood of Tumblrinas suddenly do.
some of them are even here too
Dude, I can read. That doesn't explain your point.
Okay, if she was designed to be African American, like the game says, then they fucked up in my opinion, as I don't see it.
Yes though I thought that she was fully Asian until I saw her parents. They both looked Black during that scene. It makes sense now that I look back due to her hair being like it is and she is a very dark toned Asian.
Curiosity be damning, my friend.
She looks as if she's wearing permanent make up.
I think point is you just choose what race you imagine clem to be. She seemed white in s1, Asian/white season 2, and Idk season 3. They say she's black but the only time she actually seemed black skin color was in s3. Shes been all race skin colors, all opinions are correct.
Well, I never doubted it, so I guess it depends on what you think African Americans are supposed to look like.
Her voice actor said she was a Blasian Asian so I guess it's true. I don't see why it matters though, it's not like race has any bearing in the zombie apocalypse. I saw someone crying about representation in video games on these forums yesterday though, everyone forgets about our Urban God.
If I saw a guy protecting a girl with his life I would assume they're family regardless of race. It's so confused at this point, someone said she was black, her VA said she was mixed. I don't see why it matters, I doubt Clementine even knows herself.
Nobody knows for sure.
I mean people assumed Clementine was Lee's biological daughter. Melissa, never said she was mixed, she said it was just a guess cause she doesn't know herself. And I don't see why it matters neither, but I also don't understand how some can confuse her to being white or Asian. As the seasons progress, you can see her get darker and darker.
You can't really ask someone you just met if his supposed daughter is adopted. It's safer to just assume, though I'm sure some of them actually did think that Clem was legitimately his daughter. Melissa sounded really confident in her answer, she didn't say it was a guess. Clementine does look a little darker to me but that would happen if she was mixed too. Her mom looked Asian-ish in the photo, and her skin isn't as dark as you would expect, so that leads people to believe either she just has lighter skin or she's mixed.
Meh I've never seen a half Black and half Asian person in real life so who knows.
I thought that she was fully Asian for a long time. You never can tell by looks. Eisenhower had a mixed mom and my dad is almost entirely Italian, yet I'm white with red hair and blue eyes.
I think she just has lighter skin, but whatever floats your boat I guess.
Developers said she was Black, neither of her parents Asian. VO doesn't make creative decisions or is involved in the creative aspect of the game. The lead animator said she was African American and I take her word over the VO.
And apparently you are not black unless your skin is super dark. GTFO with this ignorant as fuck thinking.
I would say the features that are commonly associated with African Americans (which Clementine doesn't have), but in this day and age anything said about race is taken out of context, so I'll leave it here.
Ahhh no one has said any such thing....just there is a question of if she has Asian blood...what you hate Asians?
Yeah, it doesn't really matter.
It's what people are implying. Both her parents are black, but somehow she is magically Asian and the only reason people say that is because her skin color is apparently not black enough for people.
Well, ok...I think she has Asian features...whether she is called one thing or another...but I will always maintain she is a sweetheart.
Has anyone actually looked at the link or is everyone purposefully ignorant. Like the staff has confirmed Clem's Black more than once she's not what you want her to be she's black. There's no discussion to be had honestly. Sorry if I sound a bit harsh but y'all need to get your facts straight.
You really shouldn't take it that personally. If someone chooses to listen to the VA then that's okay, they most likely aren't saying anything about race.
People who keep saying her mom looks "asian-ish" have obviously not been around many black people.
African Americans come in every shape and shade, just because she's very light doesn't mean she's Asian or mixed
Chris brown, raven symone, Beyoncé, micheal ealy, there are many lightskin black people who have two black parents
She doesn't look black or asian to me.
She looks like a mix of many different races. A very good mix, I must say.
er, well she did anyway. She looks a little more black this season.
Well, imo, the family photo of Clem and her parents always looked to me like Clem's father was black and her mom was Asian of some sort...even when TTG said that she was only black, she always has looked to me like she mixed.
I would beg to differ. Clem's mom to be looks like she could be mixed with Asian of some sort.
Oh, by the way, my father is black, so I've been around plenty of black people in the life.
