I have been saying ever since the release of "In Too Deep" of Michonne Miniseries that the demographics of the US population are being trans… moremitted inaccurately.
He literally explains his point in the very beginning there. Demographics of US population not being transmitted accurately.
Only about 12% of all women in the US are African-Americans.
We have Clementine, Christa, Tavia, Rebecca, Michonne, Francine and Ava—and we can also count Diana, Elodie and Colette, if you will.

The main and secondary characters in A New Frontier are Javier, David, Kate, Gabe, Mariana, Max, Badger, Clementine, Tripp, Francine, Conrad, Eli, Eleanor and Jesus—and, somehow, only three in all of these are Caucasian-Americans, even though 63% of the US population is Caucasian-American. And, funnily enough, the three Caucasian-Americans are males and antagonists; Eli, Badger and Max.
I agree, but I think a big reason of it not really being such a big deal is that the characters just happen to be black.
Rather than char… moreacters who's entire concept is based around their race. It's a subtle but noticeable difference, and I'm pretty glad we don't get stuck with those "token black" characters.

Meaning he has been saying ever since around mid/late 2015 that the demographics of US have been transmitted inaccurately. Which obviously excludes S1 and S2 from this discussion. And "funnily enough" the PC narrative gained a lot of momentum in 2015, in 2012 people weren't so concerned about diverse casts or representation in media. Make of that what you will.
In any case people aren't complaining now either. The author of this thread wasn't complaining about female or black characters.
It shouldn't be a checklist of 'must have x many white characters'. They should just write good characters. That's it.
But how ironic that it is in most media today that you need a checklist of "must have x many people of color characters". I think everyone would agree that you should just write good characters.
So? Is the goal of the Walking Dead to represent all demographics down to a percentage point?
There were twice as many men as women in tw… mored season 1. People didn't complain then - so why is it a problem if black women are overrepresented?

I hate when ppl start talking about humen race
Especially about when they talk about black ppl make me feel that what all martin lother king did gone with the trash
Yeah there is a lot of black females in TWD than what?
I was the person who argued—back when Michonne Miniseries was still amidst release—that is was realistic to encounter a gay couple within a community of a hundred survivors, when others would chant that it is minority service. This is no different. I want everyone reading to know that I am not against minorities; this isn't an attack on people of color.

The fact that other people—also known as not me—did not complain about the sex of characters, four years ago, prevents me from complaining about the skewed demographics of the characters, now? I agree that there were far too many males in comparison to females back in Season One.
It shouldn't be a checklist of 'must have x many white characters'. They should just write good characters. That's it.
Then they might also incorporate the geography of Florida, Arizona and Alaska in the middle of Virginia as long as the landspace is compelling.

I like that the TWD has many characters who are POC, and not put in stereotypical roles. It's a breath of fresh air compared to most video g… moreames.
Race hasn't been an issue that's really come up on the series, although I suppose it something that becomes redundant in a situation like this.
"Well, aren't you...you know...urban?"
"Big black guy. This big."
"Shut up! Indian...lady."
"We can't put Rebecca in a confederate coat."
"Who? Oh, the Russkie?"
Well, I meant the characters dont dwell on it and obsess over it like the fans do but thanks for taking the time to correct me. Id almost forgotten about Kenny anti-Russian tirades.

How I called someone out for wrongly accusing someone of being racist, and then getting asked "what the hell is wrong with me." Lol seems legit. Then you come in all cool and what not calling me a drama queen y wood u say dat? dat is jus meen and make me cri

Wow, wow, the fella's only talking about the fact there's quite a bit of diversity, as opposed to other media, in the game. He's sure as shit not saying anything racist or denouncing what Martin Luther King did for black people. How you jumped to such a conclusion is beyond me...

So you wrote that long reply just to basically say we agree? 'Demographics' are irrelevant to telling a good story, and that works both ways, so I don't really get the point of the argument nor of the thread.

The thing is though, in real life, you don't encounter an exact cross section of the US demographics within your state, because that's not how probabilities work. Yeah we might be likely to meet more white female characters than we have - but, in season 1, we meet a journalist, and journalists form a tiny percentage of the us population, but that doesn't stop running into one from being realistic.
Whereas with geography you can be sure you won't see, say, massive deserts in New York, and that's a fact that is unmovable by coincidence, whereas the people you run into are only more likely to be certain ways by the percentage of demographics they occupy, and it's not a guarantee. Especially when there isn't a massive pool to draw from, considering 'a lot of black females' is about 4-5 people.
Heck, in the OP, he says 'there are a lot of black females in zombie games' giving literally an example of two black women from totally different games. I wonder how many white dudes there were in those games?
I think we probably agree anyway, not fully sure on what we are disagreeing unless you think there should be a checklist.

If it helps I shot one of the black characters! Also let us remember Lonnie
Seriously who cares? I don't think I really gave it any thought until someone mentioned it. As long as I like a character, it matters not what ethnicity they are...well except Laplanders...those people are not to be trusted.
I get you're excited to play as a Hispanic guy, but I've been playing one IRL for over 30 years. Dudes not wrong that the balance is off characterwise.
I honestly felt like I was back on tumblr here for a moment, & since I come here to catch a break from that place, the feeling wasn't too pleasant. I don't think OP is out to stir drama/conflict unlike most people from that hellhole, but honestly... This isn't even something to discuss, this is just a thing, neither good, nor bad. I don't think it's really worth bringing up.

Drama queen.
Oh?
a whole 4..... wow so much
It didn't look like a joke, that's all.

Ok, thanks for saying it politely, not wanting to draw attention insulting people.
You forgot Michelle.
Yeah, admittedly I was getting sick of white bad guys and rural areas myself.
Agreed. Part of the reason Season2!Kenny/Buricko irked/amused me a wee bit is because they just screamed "redneck/russian asshole!"
Alvin could qualify as soft, but even that's not absolute.
Hence why No Going Back had 3 whites, 3 blacks, 1 Russian, and whatever the hell Jane is(assumed white).
Damn white dudes are so race conscious that they're triggered by a FEW black female video game characters, sad!
fer yu

That is Noodles for you.
I can confirm that.
Mind if I steal myself for a secret mission?
Alvin was soft.

k, dem observational skills
Stay in sight Sleep lol
No one's race comes up at all in the games. It's just the fans who bring it up.
"Well, aren't you...you know...urban?"
"Big black guy. This big."
"Shut up! Indian...lady."
"We can't put Rebecca in a confederate coat."

He had moments where he wasn't so soft. Even if the big one was apparently an accident.
Hah fuck off bud, nobody was talking to ya.
