So at most, I playfully have the two of them flirt through jokes. But in my mind it's just a way of having a taste of what they may desire, but not cross the line and respect David (although I assumed he was dead). Maybe I'm putting too much imagination into it...

For me, it just didn't feel right in the moment because I didn't feel like I got enough of an indication of a relationship between them. It felt too new and untested to me. If they started off acting like a couple from the jump, and the kids were okay with it, then I would have no problem with it.
