    This, they've literally crushed all of our season 1 characters essentially, and they won't give us any flag pole characters other than Clem (hopefully Javier becomes one), every season we have Clem while everyone else dies. We need more characters like Tripp and Javier in this game, they should follow the show's example with flag pole characters.

    If he lives through episode 3 he'll get the same treatment as Nick did. He's there but you wouldn't miss him if he wasn't.

    Yeah. I don't think TTG will actually change anything based on fan feedback. It's THEIR story. They've no interest in changing it for you.

    1. I want Clemy to be playable in present time too, not only in flashbacks, i want it to be like it was in TFTB when they switch from Rhys to Fiona from times to times, and playable time of Clemy and javier should be 50/50(or 40/60 atleast)
    2. I want longer episodes from 1h 30mins up to 3 hours

    You're wrong! If not us people how buy their games, their company would've already died, so they should listen to their buyers and change game to the way those who buy it wants, or no one ever buy their games again!

  • Please, no more flashbacks. If we're going to do more of them, put Lee in them. What purpose are the flashbacks supposed to serve, if not moral enlightenment? Great, we found out what happened to Kenny and Jane, we found out that she spoke to somebody from the New Frontier, etc. We don't want the plot to become reliant on things in the past we only discover until the moment it's suddenly introduced. Just makes the whole thing feel forced and artificial.

    Make the flashbacks show past choices, things that have affected Clementine in the way we initially chose. Have a dream sequence where she sees Lee in her dreams and they talk about current events and how she should handle them. They're missing out on great opportunities here.

The view of TTG is that their fans don't understand that what happens mainly happens in their hearts and mind, that the only thing they're allowed to effect to a degree is whether or not the player is an asshole or goodguy, and it is a wrong assumption that your decisions effect anything.

    WIRED: If fans are complaining that the decision they took and it didn't change the story, is that a false expectation?

    Job: Sure, a lot of fans don't understand that games are not about what's on the monitor, but it's what is hapenning in their heads and hearts. In our games it's often about empathy. Not only in heroic stories, but in comedies you need empathy as well, so that you can identify what makes you laugh or feel. What drives us is games that makes you want games about relationships, empathy and hard decisions.

    Job: In the Walking Dead you play as an afro-american history teacher in his mid-thirties who has to take care of a girl called Clementine. It's your decision what you want to teach her. Be it the value of a community, survival or being independant, it's your ideals that you give to non-playable character. And in 2nd season you play as this 9 year old girl in zombie apocalypse. And based on what you taught her in season 1st, you can play as her in 2nd season. That allows players to define a character the way you would play them.

    Wired: So, the story doesn't really change. Only characterisation of the protagonists

    Job: Yes, in season 3 of Walking Dead you play as a completely new character. And you meet 14-year old Clementine during that. If you played first 2 seasons, we will look at the choices that you made in previous episodes and we'll see how you defined Clementine. So, you meet character who you formed yourself through a roleplay. Each decisions had an impact how that person is after all these years. In that relationship each decision was important that you took.

    Wired: If it's not about decision in your game, what about is it?

    Job: Our games are more than an adventure, you get a lot out of roleplay. When players are in control of a protagonist and they interact with different characters, they have a possibility to define the character themselves. We allow them to play as an asshole or as a nice guy, but only to the limits that we allow them. It's a little bit like Dungeons & dragons. Someone tells you that you're a dwar from the nord and you have an axe. And in this conditions you can play the way you want.

  • How about play testing their game before release. It never hurts and it could help with finding bugs (ran into a bunch) and making sure the choices work out correctly.

  • You say the flashbacks are forced and serve no purpose, yet you want Lee flashbacks/dream sequences? That sounds pretty forced to me. The man's dead but everyone keeps talking about him and he showed up in Clementine's dream. I'm sick of Lee at this point.

    1. Play more time with Clementine.
    2. One or two puzzles.
    3. More conversation with characters like Tripp, Gabe, Kate, etc.
    4. Two flashbacks. One that show us how David got separated from Javi. And another one that show us why Clementine left The New Frontier.
    5. 115-120 minutes of lenght. After Ties That Bind Part Two and The Michonne Series, I think we deserve it.

  • Much longer length, and more character interaction. I have no qualms with the direction of making Clem less of a protagonist and more of a supporting character. But seriously, more length and more character interaction.

  • I'm only saying this because people insist so furiously that we should have flashbacks. If that's the case, then I would like to see them put to good use. I can't see how Lee (Clem's sole inspiration, teacher, friend, father, etc) appearing in her dreams would feel "forced", but you're free to have that opinion.
