So I Replayed Season 1

And my love for this game is back and stronger than ever. I willing to give ANF another try. I have been cleansed :)

  • I feel the same way after I've had a curry and went to the toilet.

  • Resting on laurels is a thing. Players reach for NF because of the fame of the previous games, their consistency, story and general fun they had while playing. It's like TT reputation is way ahead of them, which is bad. It makes preorders shit, and people disappointed.

But in reality, season 1 and ANF are nothing alike. Sure there are zombies and Clementine, but that's about it.

Season 1 excelled in areas that ANF is severely lacking and being criticized for. In season 1, dialogue actually changed your relationship with others and how they perceived you. You were given plenty of optional opportunities to engage characters and learn more about them. Characters mattered and you truly felt the weight of every dialogue and choice.

If anything, replaying season 1 just depresses me when I realize how much the series has deviated from the formula that actually made us love them in the first place.

At this point Telltale is literally just using Clementine as a marketing tool and is still winning awards and expecting us to judge them from a project that is years behind us at this point instead of the current garbage they're offering us.
