An Unexpected Meeting
----------------------------
The sun had already set when they arrived at a huge city. It didn't seem to be anyone there, not even walkers; but
not everything is as it seems...
(Clementine) -"Koulsville" , Clementine read the sign standing near the road.
(Clementine) -Let's not stay here for too long. Idon't like cities. Let's just search this place a little and then we
should leave. What do you say, goofball?
(AJ) -Haaaaaa, moaned AJ like he agreed with Clementine's plan.
(Clementine) -Ok. Let's do it, then.
They searched every kind of store that could have useful items, such as guns, ammo, food and water, but they didn't
find much. It was like someone had already looted this place for good. Fortunately, they found some food and some bullets,
but these were too litle for a city to have.
"Cities don't worth the risk, Clem." It was Lee's voice. That was his last advice and his last words before he died.
"Stay away from cities." Lee was talking through Clementine's head, like he was next to her at that moment. Though,
he wasn't.
(Clementine) -Let's get out of here AJ. We took as much as we could. We should go, now.
Clementine knew this wasn't true. She could scavenge the place better; but she didn't want to. She didn't want to stay
here and remember the pain she, unwittingly, caused to Lee when she was younger. She didn't want to think about that anymore.
Suddenly a gunshot interrupted Clementine's thoughts. She ran out of the department store, she was currently in, and
looked around. A bunch of walkers appeared from every corner of the city and headed towards the gunshot. Clementine could
see a man at the distance using a shotgun for killing those walkers which seemed to have surround him. He had a kid with him,
too. It was a little girl, crying.
(Clementine) -We should help them, AJ! Come on!
Clementine pulled out her knife and gun and tried to take out some walkers. Some of them were already heading towards her.
She slashed the first walker's head with her knife and she shot the next one right into its face.
There weren't many walker's, but they were enough to surround you like the man with the shotgun.
Clementine continued pushing forward as careful as she could in order not to get cornered by any walkers.
However, one of them managed to grab her and tried to bit her but with no luck. Clementine blew this walker's head of
without hesitation.
There were just a few more walkers, now. The guy with the shotgun had, actually, done a good job. Clementine put AJ in a car
that looked sturdy enough.
(Clementine) -AJ, stay quiet now, please. I'll come for you in a minute, ok? ,she said stressful.
AJ started crying, but he stopped after a few seconds. Clementine closed the car's door and made sure it couldn't ne opened
so easily.
(Clementine) -I'm coming! Just try to get out of there, quick! ,she said to the unknown man. He was now cornered by walkers
at the end of the street.
(Unknown Man) -Oh God! Please, help us! ,he said desperately.
(Unknown Girl) -What is gonna do, dad? ,the little girl said in tears.
(Unknown Man) -I don't know hon'. Just stay behind me, ok?
There were only about 9 walkers, now. The man shot his last shell into a walker's face. He started hitting the walkers with
the back of his shotgun.
Clementine came right to the rescue by putting her into the walkers' face one after another. The last two were taken down
at the same time; one by the man that crashed that walker's head with the back of his shotgun and the other one by Clementine
with a great jump-kill destroying that walker's brain for good.
(Unknown Man) -Oh thank God, you're alright, sweetie! ,the man was speaking to the little girl he had with him.
(James) -Thank you, too, my friend! I don't think we would have made it without your help. I owe you one! My name's James
by the way, and this is my daughter, Tina.
(Clementine) -Hi...there. I'm glad I was able to help. My name's Clementine.
(Tina) -Daad? What is she gonna do with us? ,the little girl was scared by the sight of Clementine's knife.
(James) -It's alright, sweetie. She's friendly... right?
(Clementine) -Yeah, I'm not gonna hurt you, don't worry.
Clementine put her knife back in its sheath.
(Clementine) -Well, I have to go, now. It was nice to meet you two.
(James) -Wait! Please come with us! I owe you for this and I would like to repay you. We live in a community a few miles away
from here. The town's name it's Richmond and I would like to offer you some dinner for your help. It's the least I can do.
(Clementine) -Hmmm...Ok, sure. That would be a great idea. Just give me a minute.
Clementine went back to the car where she had left AJ. He was quiet, which was strange. Maybe he did understand what he
was supposed to do, afterall.
(Clementine) -Come on, AJ. We'll gonna have some real dinner this time!
(James) -Come on Clementine. Thank you for accepting my offer. It was the least I c--wait! You have a baby with you? How did
you manage to survive this long?
(Clementine) -It's a long story, James. We'll talk about this later. For now, let's go eat some dinner. We're starving!
(James) -Ok, yeah. You're right. Let's go.
And they took the path to Richmond.
(Tina) -What's the baby's name? ,she asked, not so confident.
(Clementine) -It's AJ. Actually, it's Alvin Junior. This was his father's name; but I call him AJ. I think it's cool.
(James) -That's a really good name, there. He needs to remember his father's name. It's important, nowadays. Is he....dead?
(Clementine) -Yeah, he is. ,those memories were really painful for Clementine to recall.
(James) -Oh, I'm sorry. I--I shouldn't have asked.
(Clementine) -No, it's okay. It's okay...
James glanced at Clementine. He saw the toughness on her face. She has been through too much pain that may noone else has
been through; but this made her stronger. Strong enough to take care of herself and AJ in this world that has been turned
into hell...
(AJ) -Haaewou! ,moaned AJ.
(James) -Don't worry, my friend. You'll eat soon enough. We're almost there.
(Clementine) -Yeah, goofball, don't worry. I know you're hungry, but we'll eat a real meal, now.
(James) -Of course you'll do! Just a little more walk, that's all.
(Tina) -Why do you call him goofball? ,the little girl asked.
(Clementine) -What? You have a problem with that?
The little girl hid behind her father's back. Clementine felt a little guilty about it and tried to apologise.
(Clementine) -Look. I'm sorry, ok? I just call him that way, that's all. Don't mind about him. He is my responsibility.
(James) -Tina, don't disturb Clementine and her little friend. It's none of your business.
(Tina) -I'm sorry, dad.
(Clementine) -It's okay, James. I explained it to her.
(James) -Well, ok then. Let's go eat that dinner! We're really close! There! Those are our walls! Let's go everyone!
(Clementine) -Finally! ,she said cheerful.
And they ran towards the town's gates.
