Season 3

I've noticed a lot of people aren't feeling season 3 so far. I personally like it even though we can't play as clem. What are your thoughts on the episodes so far? Do you like it or dislike it?

  • Obligatory : wrong section

But I have only watched gameplays because my computer sucks. Nothing special about the game.

  • Really? oops. Most people seem to think so.

  • Love season 3 can't wait till episode three comes out. SPOILER ALERT! So don't read if you don't wanna know! But anyways, if you haven't seen Jobs twitter, there's apparently a part in episode three that breaks Job himself. Like makes him really sad. And it includes Clem...... #scaredbutreadytoplay

  • Eh, could be worse. Javier and his family were pretty poorly done, though, they seemed to try and hit as many stereotypes as they could crafting a bland family. Also pretty sure I've played Javiers character in Dead Island.

  • I actually quite enjoyed it, although if the episodes were longer I would be more pleased. Granted I didn't really care about my flashback (Wellington) because it didn't really piss me off like the others. I also was one of the few people who didn't really want to play as Clementine as the main character, so what they did were didn't really bother me. I appreciated a new angle with her.

  • I'm interested not guna lie...but there's too many fucking flaws for me to swallow

  • Just observing what people that are playing have been saying.

  • I absolutely love season 3 and was instantly hooked on all the characters, I guess i'm just easily impressed idk. But if episode 3 isn't atleast 2 hours i'll take it all back.

  • Hate the flashbacks. The best one is the 'Alone' flashback, had the most impact for me, which is the one I got thankfully. The others were downright terrible though, and so disrespectful to the characters, especially Kenny's (MA BOI). I was hoping for something along the lines of Tales From The Borderlands where the play time between characters is split evenly. However I really like Javier, he's a cool and likeable guy, and I think he pairs brilliantly with Clementine. Biggest disappoint so far though is the lack of consequences for the choices you've made. And that just doesn't apply to season 3, but season 2 as well. I'm incredibly worried about Telltale with these games because they keep pumping out more and more series, rather than focusing on just a few to ensure that particular series is high in quality. Don't get me wrong, I fucking adore Walking Dead, but it needs to be improved.

Oh and Episode 1's intro? Fucking. Ace.

  • I agree! I really liked it as soon as I started playing. I'm just happy telltale came out with season 3 lol I've been waiting on this and Game of thrones to come out since these are the only 2 I've played (and tales of the borderland, so i guess 3) but I'm super anxious to find out what happens next. We can only hope it's at least 2 hours fingers crossed

  • The flashback with Kenny and Aj made me sad. I bet Aj ended up being ate by zombies as well. Or he's apart of the new frontier, but I enjoy the other flashbacks since we don't know much about Javier and his family. I agree with everything else though, I'm not a fan of the other telltale stories and they seem to be putting out new content instead working on things that could be way better (maybe I'm just bitter haha)

It was 'Okay'. Definetly the Weakest Season premiere(s) by Telltale (that i played) but i can see it becoming better down the road.

  • Neither are the telltale forums.

"Most people" online game critic reviews aren't most people.

  • Certainly are a better voice than online critics.

    Neither are the telltale forums.

  • The first 10 minutes were good, but it slowly went to shit. That sad part is, that's the only really good scene in this entire game so far. Which is very unfortunate and it's not like they're going to listen to us, no matter what we say. They're just going to do the complete opposite.

  • I'm definitely bitter haha! But all we can do is wait and see until the end of the season :)

  • Well I'm definitely curious as to what episode 2 "oh wait, 3 since they cut 1 in half" will bring, but I don't have very high expectations to be honest, I kinda lost faith in telltale at this point.

Dead Island is that a decent game? Looks too much alike left 4 dead to me so never checked it out really. Not that left 4 dead was bad either.

  • I enjoyed the episodes, for the most part, whilst I was playing them, but it just wasn't enough content to justify the price or satisfy me.

  • A bit rough around the edges but I had a good time with it. It's definitely more focused on the physics and melee combat than L4D, there's kind of a Dead Rising crafting system in play, each of the characters has an RPG-like skill tree you level up and specializes in different types of combat, and I guess I would compare the loot system to something like Borderlands? It's more of an action game with RPG elements than a straight shooter. But like L4D it's a blast with friends.

  • Overall, I feel let down by Season 3. The time skips inserted into Javi's story left me with a disjointed view of his life, providing little attachment to him or his family. The story is heavily action driven rather than character driven, which doesn't blend incredibly well with this format lacking established characters. I'm rather hoping episode three does something to resolve having little investment in the characters this season, but I'm not holding my breath.

  • I think Season 3, by far has to be the worse TTG ever. But for some reason I am giving hope for the rest of the Season.

I liked it fine. It's definitely flawed and it's my least favorite in the series so far, but I don't think its worthy of all the hate it gets from this community.

  • I just couldn't! Jane was the worst so I decided she had to go lol

  • See I really liked Jane.......until she reveals that she hid AJ on purpose, just to provoke Kenny.
