Why Won't Telltale Be Honest With Us?
I've seen a lot of talk on this community about how sucky telltale is about being honest with us. To be honest, I have to agree. They just are keeping us in the dark, and barely even caring about it. I want to know your guys' thoughts on the situation and if you think they'll ever be honest with us?
I mean, they did kind of rip us off by giving us two episodes in one. Because they know it could have been one... and it really does suck.
Anyway, thoughts?

They are not being dishonest...they are just giving us alternate facts.
From a company view, you never want to admit you did anything wrong. It doesnt look good if you come out and start saying things like "Sorry guys, we really messed up."
To be honest though, the dishonesty is only really part of it. Telltale almost never interacts with fans. Ever. So far the closest we go to real interaction was the Job AMA, but now he apparently is sick and cant communicate. And we still didnt even learn that much from the AMA besides a Wolf S2 hint, which may not even be true, it could just be Telltale trying to swing people from questioning problems with S3 by hinting the game everyone has been begging for 3 years now.
That's understandable, but, they showed us the trailer like "LOOK ITS CLEM"...."OH AND ANOTHER GUY". We all thought it would be more like we would have a new group and be playing Clem. Not Clem denying the entire situation, and no answers.
Thats what I meant. I didnt really go into detail but yeah, theres a ton of problems. Like ep was so big it was split, advertising like Clem is still important when she isnt, ect.
I think Poogers nailed it right on the head, it would be bad business to admit they done goofed with the first "two" episodes, it's easier just to point out some review scores and not evade acknowledging that most of them point out the length or lie about it(it took you two hours to beat the first episode, Gamespot? Really?).
The lack of communication and how evasive they are when there is any is annoying, but honestly, they've been trying their hardest not address much since their bullshit description of what ANF would be at E3, so it's not really anything new. If episode 3 busts I may just watch the rest of the game on YouTube or read the wiki summary, either way I'm damn glad I didn't buy the season pass.
"I think Poogers nailed it right on the head,"
Oh, it wasn't just the trailer, they made no attempt to make it seem like Clem would be playing a supporting role with minimal playtime until a few weeks before the game came out. Until that point, the story was Clementine would be joined by a new character who's also playable, and it would be a continuation of the previous games as well as introducing Javiers story.
We found out she was only playable in flashbacks from Amazons description, not TellTale. The "as much a continuation as a new story" was crap too, they wrote out most of the previous seasons within the first episode, and have kept the only people they didn't write out pretty far in the background in favor of the new crap.
I feel like I've seen this thread before
The reason why Telltale isn't honest with y'all is because of dem reviews they be getting from game critics. Positive reviews are all dat matter. Dollar dollar bill y'all.
If they admit they are wrong then they are basically admitting to false advertising and shady business practices. This would also contradict Kevin Bruner's statement that Telltale's growth and interest in new series wouldn't affect the quality of their games.
So basically, they're just going to pretend that the criticism is localized to the forums while giving some vague lip service about waiting to see the rest of the season. No real solutions, no respect shown to true loyal fans.
Because...
Telltale's popularity is really impressive and works as a fly-paper.
Using fan's favourite characters (and feelings that have accompanied us throughout their story) is an old advertising trick, manipulation designed to encourage the majority of fanbase to the new title, which might or not turn out to be failure, but it's carefully covered with something familiar and more persuasive (in this case Clementine and promised gameplay).
It's just a little weird that they don't use the feedback we give them. This is their website, they should use the "community" tab to their advantage, shouldn't they?
It feels like they did interact with us more back then though. It might not have been long conversations per se, but it definitely was more than just a drip of lies.
they're not being dishonest if they're ignoring our questions
/s dont kill me in my sleep telltale pls
No company is honest with its fans...just remember that
I remember they said something like there were some things Javier can't do without Clem or something like that and I thought it would be puzzle related lmao.
They interacted more back then because I believe they cared more and because the community loved the series back then.
But they are being honest with our hearts and minds, always remember that... Or not.
Naughty Dog.
! Telltale Community will remember that
Then 3 minutes later the site gets taken down.
True as hell, lol.
Honestly first time i startedI reading here i thought this forum Just had a lot of negative people.
I Saw a review bout the game, got hyped bought the first 2 episodes and then got pissed off.
Almost all the points that are made here, i agree on. Slow pace, to short, NO charachter development, lack of conversatie/hubs, and so on. (Im cool with javi, and i dont mind i cant play clem. But she is like my baby, so i do want to see more off her)
After reading the ama i onderstand why people here are so angry. IT really made me feel like im Just a thing that pays money..
If EP 3 is gonna be the same im done, ill wait for IT to be free on PS Plus Or Just watch on YouTube Or something.
(Sorry in Just a Little pissed and had to let IT out)
